#KeyPrinciples of #BibleStudy -- God Has a Plan

The Purpose of the Holy Scriptures

Psalms 119:105; John 5:39; 2 Timothy 3:16-17; Luke 24:25-27; 1 Corinthians 10:11; Romans 15:4; 2 Timothy 3:15; Psalms 119:129-130; John 6:63

The ultimate purpose of the scriptures is to point us to Jesus who alone can save. The Bible provides history, prophecy, doctrine, reproof, correction, instruction, and good works – but these are only useful within the context of a saving relationship with Jesus Christ.

Therefore, it is the role of the scriptures to reveal the following to us:

-- Who God is…
-- The need for a saving relationship with Jesus Christ, the Son of God…
-- The way to obtain a saving relationship with Jesus Christ, the Son of God…
-- The way to maintain a saving relationship with Jesus Christ, the Son of God…

Along the way, we get to see the history of our planet (from creation through the fall of man through the life, death and resurrection of Jesus through the spreading of the gospel), including good and bad life examples of many people on both sides of the great conflict; and all the prophecy which points to the eradication of sin and the final restoration of all things.

Every question of any importance that we want to ask can be answered from the scriptures. As you continue your study, you will see just how this is manifested.
