Join Mitch Miller on his journey to become a coal miner in western Pennsylvania. Listen to his audio notes at the end of each shift to learn about coal mining. At the end of each episode Mitch goes into a discourse about some of the issues facing the United States. This week he argues that the universal blood donor or type O- blood type should be paid for their blood since anyone can receive it. He suggests that the federal government should pay these people to get 3 estimates before any surgery and use their findings to create a federal database of procedure costs. This way instead of insurers charging high deductibles they could simply refuse to pay anything more than the average price found in the federal database.
