How many of you have heard of Alan Hackett? Probably none of you. For over 50 years Alan has been fighting the liberal cause from parliamentary by-elections, the founding of the Liberal Democrats and over 30 years in council chambers.
There will be lots of people like Alan in our party who go under the radar in places where Liberal Democrats have never been the strongest political party.
Losing by 6 votes, winning by 1 vote, campaigning from the Suez Crisis to the Covid pandemic. We are very grateful to hear Alan's story.
