Free Speech Union spokesperson Jonathan Ayling sits down with the ACT Party's Deputy Leader Brooke van Velden and the National Party's MP for Invercargill Penny Simmonds - both members of the Parliamentary Health Select Committee - to discuss the highly controversial 'Safe Areas' Bill. With protest rights front of mind for many Kiwis right now, the pair discuss their mutual concerns with what 'Safe Areas' could mean for protest more generally in New Zealand moving forward, Penny questions ACT's commitment to freedoms (leading to some entertaining exchanges) and Brooke makes a case as to why ACT's changes to the wording of the Bill should put minds at rest.
