Have you begun exploring what it means to follow Christ, but are sensing that there is more? Maybe you've been a Christian a while but have moved away from your closeness with Christ. In this series, we talk about some key elements to growing and getting stronger as a follower of Christ. Colossians 3: 22-25 If we live to be 70, the avg. person spends... 24 years sleeping 6 years of total time eating 5 years in transit 4 years in conversation 5 years in school, studying, or reading 4 years in misc. pursuits (incl. serving God) 8 years in recreation (TV, sports, hobbies) 14 years at work The Bigger Picture: - There is a reason that work is hard - Work is not all bad - Work is not a curse. The curse just made work difficult. - Your work is very important to God #1. Do your job Colossians 3: 22 A lack of submission to God-given authority is a lack of submission to God. #2. Do your best, seeing God as your boss Colossians 3: 22b-25 If we live like God tells us to live, Christians would be known as the best workers. Proverbs 15: 3 #3. Use your job for God's glory Colossians 3: 23 How could my job bring glory to God? You produce a product or service You produce income 3 primary reasons for income: - to provide for our needs - to provide for our family - to provide for God’s work You impact lives through your job
