Relearning trust is the hallmark of recovery. While guerrilla pimps use violence right from the start, finesse pimps and many labor traffickers are con men. They use manipulation to become the person you want to see. Once they gain your trust, they exploit it and use it to their own advantage. Many survivors never want to trust again. But trust is the what makes life beautiful and relationships meaningful. Relearning to trust means relearning to trust in yourself and in trustworthy others.
