Well, it's finally here: Eclipse day is here this afternoon. We'll be able to go outside and see the moon basically blocking out the sun. It's going to create a really strange atmosphere (to have the moon blocking out the sun's light). It has me thinking about a lot of people in our world. Their story the darkness blocking out the light! The sun's (Jesus) light is blacked out by all the moons in their life. You know, they've got all kinds of terrible things going on and difficult stuff and circumstances happening. And because they don't know how to move the moon, they can't really see the sun.

Our job as the church is to step in and help people move the moon's out of the way so that they can see get a full glimpse of the brightness, power and presence of Jesus. This week, I hope that you'll be thinking about the people around you who have these moon shadowing or hiding the sun in their lives. Think about how you might be able to step in and help them move the moon so that they can understand the love Jesus has for them.

Let's pray. Lord Jesus, we know that you have put us on a mission. We're supposed to be the light of the world. You are the light of the world. Lord, we want people to see and experience your light. We want to help people see and experience your light so Lord, please give us eyes to see those who need us to help them move the moons - clear up the eclipses in their life so they can actually see the light of the world. In your name we pray, amen.
