Welcome to Elmhurst CRC's daily dose of the Word of God. It's Wednesday, April 10, it's the season of Easter and we're walking the Emmaus road with Jesus. I'll be reading from Luke 24, verses 25 through 27. My name is Kyle Olson and I serve as the Technical Director here at Elmhurst CRC. This is the Voice Translation with Jesus speaking.

Come on, men! Why are you being so foolish? Why are your hearts so sluggish when it comes to believing what the prophets have been saying all along? Didn’t it have to be this way? Didn’t the Anointed One have to experience these sufferings in order to come into His glory? Then he begins with Moses and continues, prophet by prophet, explaining the meaning of the Hebrew Scriptures, showing how they were talking about the very things that had happened to Jesus.

Kyle Olson  1:03

Let's pray. Lord, thank you for your word. Thank you for your son and his resurrection. As we consider this conversation that Jesus is having with these two people on Emmaus road, do we realize that we still don't know everything and that when we look back at what you had to experience, and that you call us to go through that as well, to live like you, it is humbling. If we are to follow you, we are to follow you into suffering. We thank you that you've shown us the way - you've already made the path. Ressurection is assured, but yet it's still hard to walk in this world with so many questions. Thank you that you walk with us. Thank you that you are here to show, explain and reveal to us the redemption and the work that you're already doing (and that we can take part in). In your name, amen.
