Welcome to Elmhurst CRC's daily dose of the Word of God. It's Wednesday, April 24, it's the season of Easter and we're walking the Emmaus road with Jesus. My name is Kyle Olson and I serve here as the Technical Director at Elmhurst CRC. I'll be reading from Luke chapter 24, verses 33 through 35 (The Voice).

So they get up immediately and rush back to Jerusalem—all seven miles—where they find the eleven gathered together—the eleven plus a number of others. Before Cleopas and his companion can tell their story, the others have their own story to tell. Other Disciples: The Lord has risen indeed! It’s true! He appeared to Simon! Then the two men report their own experience—their conversation along the road, their moment of realization and recognition as He broke the bread.

Kyle Olson  1:11

Let's pray. Lord, thank you for your word. Thank you for these stories of inspiration of excitement; that after the resurrection (even though everyone doesn't know what to do) you still appear, give them guidance, and you give them something to look to, to look forward to and a way to keep moving ahead to tell your story - to tell their story of how they know you and how they witnessed everything that you've done, so that they can continue to do that moving forward in the path that you've laid out. Lord, stay close to us. Help us to see you every day. Give us wisdom, give us the words to say, give us the drive and the energy to do what you would have us do - to work in your word to live in your way. In your name, amen.
