Welcome to Elmhurst CRC's Daily Dose in the Word of God. It's Easter Monday, April 6th. This is Jeff Klein, reminding you that your resurrection life celebration and your resurrection life now can be taken Beyond Sunday and into your week to change and impact the world. In Acts 17, Paul and Silas visit the city of Thessalonica. Paul and Silas had been set apart by the church, anointed to be missionaries of the gospel of Jesus Christ. They were part of a movement that was supernaturally empowered by the Holy Spirit to give witness to Jesus. When the Jews in Thessalonica round up bad characters to oppose the message of the gospel, they describe Paul and Silas this way: "As the men who have turned the whole world upside down." These men were disrupting the status quo. The Gospel rocked the boat. It was a revolution that offered allegiance to another kingdom. These men had a missional dynamism that was literally changing the world. What about Christians today? What about us at ECRC? Are we dynamically involved in spreading the gospel? Does anything we do turn the world upside down? Do we see ourselves as called to have a redemptive impact on the world and the people around us? One of the ways we can turn the world upside down, one of the ways we can disrupt and surprise people is by serving them - giving our time and energy to stand alongside them and be kind. This coming weekend (April 11th and 12th), we are giving lots of opportunities to do this, to turn the world upside down. You can be part of it! Get on the ECRC web page and sign yourself up with your family and come help us turn the world upside down. Let's do that together.

Let's pray. Jesus, give us a vision for how our simple acts of service and the way that we go through the world as resurrected people who have received the resurrection life of Jesus. Give us a vision of how we can turn the world upside down this week. In your name Jesus we pray, amen.
