Good Morning and welcome to Elmhurst CRC's Daily Dose of the Word of God. This is Gregg DeMay and it's Tuesday, May 26th and indeed Sunday's coming. This is going to be the last Daily Dose for about a couple months before we relaunch in early August with scriptures about the person and work of the Holy Spirit. I want to encourage you this summer to stay in the Word in the meantime and also to enjoy the beauty of creation during the long warm days of summer here in the North. Today's scripture text is from 2 Timothy 3.

All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.

Friends, over the summer, I urge you to commit to continuing daily engagement with God's word. Where should you go? What part of the Bible? What books should you dive into? Here are a few preliminary steps to consider. Pray and ask the Holy Spirit to guide your thoughts to part of the word. Maybe take an inventory of some part of the Bible where maybe you've had some curiosity, longing or interest in recent months. Talk with a spiritual friend for confirmation. Make a decision and stick with it for a month or so this summer. You really can't go wrong, because as the Bible says, "all scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work."

Gregg DeMey   1:46

May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all over these beautiful summer months. Grace and peace.
