In 1970, he received the 12th International Prestigious Scout Award, was presented to Queen Elizabeth II and Governor General Sir Hugh Springer, He has published 329 books between 2000 and 2024, with a focus on culture while his publications impacting global audiences in 195 countries, 10,000 cities, and 4,671 universities. Dr. Gittens has been a featured speaker at The Barbados Police Service's Annual Grand Conference and is the CEO of Devgro Media Arts Services in 2015. Gittens has also worked as an Administrative Officer in the Government of Barbados for 32 years.
