Sermon Series: Between Two Worlds
Speaker: Pastor Josh Sherrell
__________
In this passage, Peter concludes a larger section that began in 2:11, dealing with our identity as sojourners and exiles and the call to live in such a way that brings glory to God amid suffering. He has shown how we live this out as citizens, servants, wives, and husbands. Now he turns to apply the context of our hope as a community of believers. Suffering remains the backdrop, but Peter calls for a way of living in this life that glorifies God in the hope of a better life as chosen strangers on a journey between two worlds.
__________
Main Idea: Christians glorify God in this life as we embody, express, and experience the hope of a better life.
__________
I. We embody this hope in community. (3:8)
II. We express this hope in blessing. (3:9)
III. We experience this hope in obedience. (3:10-12)
