Description: Considering the victory that is ours in Christ through his suffering, resurrection, and ascension, Peter calls Christians to arm themselves for the dying life of this world and to live for the world to come in the light of Christ’s return.

Main Idea: Christians embrace the dying life of this world and live for the world to come.   
__________     

I. Embrace the dying life of this world. (4:1–6).   
     a. Arm yourselves for suffering.   
     b. Remember your freedom.   
     c. Submit to the will of God.   

II. Live for the world to come. (4:7–11)   
     a. Be ready for the Lord’s coming.   
     b. Love one another deeply.   
     c. Steward the gifts of God’s grace.
