Description: Continuing the theme of suffering for righteousness, Peter calls Christians to remain tethered and anchored in their suffering by looking to Christ, the hope of future glory, and the presence of His Spirit. He calls us to rejoice in suffering, to persist in doing good, and to entrust our souls to a faithful Creator amid our suffering as we continue to live for the glory of God.

Main Idea: Christians rejoice in suffering and persist in doing good as they entrust their souls to God.

I. Rejoice in your suffering. (4:12-14)   
  a. Do not be surprised by present suffering.   
  b. Set your minds on the coming glory.   
  c. Embrace the blessing of God’s Spirit.   
   
II. Persist in doing good. (4:15-18)   
  a. Do not return to your old ways.   
  b. Do not be ashamed.   
  c. Glorify God in the name of Christ.   
  d. Remember that judgment belongs to the Lord.   
   
III. Entrust your soul to God. (4:19)
