“Faith & Knowledge” (2 Peter 1:1–2)

This Sunday, we continue our series “Between Two Worlds” through 1 & 2 Peter. In this letter, Peter opens by reminding believers of who they are in Christ and how they grow in Christ. We are who we are by faith. That faith comes as a gift through trusting in the righteousness of Christ. We become who we are as we grow in the knowledge of Christ. These themes are particularly important in this second letter as Peter is fighting against false teaching and rampant ungodliness.

Main Idea: We are who we are by faith in Christ and become who we are by growing in the knowledge of Christ.

I. Faith is a gift obtained by trusting in the righteousness of Christ. (1:1)   

II. Knowledge is the means of experiencing the grace and peace of God in Christ. (1:2)
