Quiet Voice Ministries presents the Word with Dr. John P. Johnson. I'm glad you chose to join in today because I will be asking several questions concerning spiritual life. Let us pray. Our Father who art in heaven. We thank you for this moment that you have drawn us to this place. And we are reminded in your word that no one can come to Jesus unless you draw them. Draw us today. Draw us this moment. That we might know your word. That we might be saved. In Jesus' name. Amen. Now if you are unsure or doubt that you know the answer to any one of these questions that I'm about to ask, I want you to please listen and hear the gospel of Jesus Christ. Here are the questions. Listen Do you think you have been good enough to get into heaven? Here's one. Do you think God will forgive your sin and let you into heaven? Here's one. Why should God let you into heaven? Another question Do you think because God is love you should get into heaven? Here's one. Who is Jesus Christ? And why did he come? Here's another. What did he do for you and me that we might enter into heaven? And just a few more. How can you enter into heaven? And the last one, will you receive him today by faith as your Lord and Savior? One might ask the question, Well, how might I receive him? And how do I receive him? Listen to the gospel of Jesus Christ. First, you must understand that no man can save himself by his good works or any other means. The Bible says this, for by grace are ye saved through faith, and that not of yourselves. It is the gift of God, not of works, lest any man should boast. And that's Ephesians chapter two, verse eight and nine. And here's the question. Well, how can I stop sinning? You must know man is a sinner, and he cannot save himself. For the Bible tells us all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. The Bible says that God is love, so he will save me in the end. That's the thought of many. But know this. God is love and merciful, and he does not want to punish us, but God is also just, and he must punish our sin. The Bible declares the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life. This means on the one hand God loves us. But on the other hand, God is just, therefore he must punish our sin. So because we are all sinners, Romans chapter three, verse twenty three declares, we are all sentenced to hell. The Bible tells us, but God so loved the world that he sent his only begotten son, that whosoever believes in him will not perish, but have everlasting life. Well, who is God's son? And what did he do so that I might have everlasting life? Jesus Christ, the Son of God, came down from heaven. That's found in John chapter one and verse fourteen. And it reads, And the word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we saw his glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, and he was full of grace and truth. Jesus is one hundred percent man and one hundred percent God. Well, what did he do to save me from the penalties of sin and eternal hell? He, Jesus Christ, died on the cross as our substitute. He was buried, but on the third day he rose from the dead to pay the penalty for our sin and to purchase a place in heaven for us. Our sin debt was paid when Jesus died on the cross, was buried, but on the third day he rose from the dead with all power in heaven and on earth. For if you and I had to suffer the penalty for our own sin and die for ourselves, we would all corrupt in hell. But Jesus Christ rose from the dead on the third day. Now Jesus Christ sits at the right hand of God in heaven, and he offers heaven eternal life to you and to me as a gift. Now the question, how can how can I, how can we receive this gift of eternal life, of being saved? Know that this gift is received by faith. Tell me, what kind of faith saves? Saving faith is trusting Jesus Christ alone for your salvation, trusting who he is, and trusting what he has done on the cross to save you. It means resting upon Christ alone and what he has done to get us into heaven. As the scripture says, believe, trust on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved. Acts chapter sixteen, verse thirty one. Now if this gospel presentation makes sense to you, the question God is asking you is simply this. Do you want to receive this gift of eternal life? If your answer is yes, I want to receive the gift of eternal life, know that by a simple act of faith you have placed your trust in Jesus Christ for your salvation. And now you want to find in the Bible, if you really simply have believed by faith this gospel presentation I have presented, I want you and you to find a Bible if you have one handy. Find a Bible right now. And turn in that Bible to John chapter 6 verse 47. If you have a Bible handy, I want you to turn to John chapter 6 verse 47. If you do not have a Bible, write it down, write this scripture down. And this scripture is going to tell you exactly what has just happened to you. If you have believed this presentation I have presented, if you have believed by faith, the Bible says in John chapter 6, verse 47, it reads, Truly, truly, I say to you, he who believes has eternal life. You are saved simply by believing in faith that Jesus died for you. Believe it. You have been listening to the word with Dr. John P. Johnson.
