00:00:09.400 --> 00:00:11.400
Welcome to the Me, Myself, and You podcast.
1
00:00:11.400 --> 00:00:15.700
My name is Sara and I'm your host and I'm really glad to have you here as usual.
2
00:00:15.800 --> 00:00:19.700
I hope you're having a good day today.
3
00:00:19.700 --> 00:00:26.253
I wanted to talk a little bit about like organization and project management and that kind of stuff because I'm a big fan of
4
00:00:26.253 --> 00:00:26.800
those things.
5
00:00:26.800 --> 00:00:33.741
I like things to be pretty organized and put together and I've had the opportunity to work with a few different project
6
00:00:33.741 --> 00:00:40.682
management tools through work and another volunteer things her track and that sort of Stuff all the things on my resume, you
7
00:00:40.682 --> 00:00:45.100
know, so I wanted to kind of walk you through some of my favorites.
8
00:00:45.100 --> 00:00:54.700
So first off, I recently discovered this tool called notion and it's super customizable and I'm somewhat obsessed.
9
00:00:54.700 --> 00:00:58.500
I'm actually using it to organize podcast stuff right now and it's incredible.
10
00:00:59.000 --> 00:01:05.400
It's very like all-in-one and just its functions like a database.
11
00:01:05.400 --> 00:01:13.405
It's honestly incredible if you haven't checked it out death in Italy do I know I've mentioned Michelle be on this podcast
12
00:01:13.405 --> 00:01:18.500
before she has a lot of information about it and some Guerrilla great templates.
13
00:01:18.600 --> 00:01:24.400
I actually just got some free ones from her because I had ordered a planner which I'm also going to talk about in this episode.
14
00:01:25.400 --> 00:01:27.300
So definitely check that out.
15
00:01:27.300 --> 00:01:36.090
It's very just if you want to be able to customize stuff kind of like bullet journaling but more computery more data base e and
16
00:01:36.090 --> 00:01:38.200
more, you know, it's not handwritten.
17
00:01:38.200 --> 00:01:39.100
So it's a little fast.
18
00:01:39.300 --> 00:01:41.400
It's quick to change notion is your thing.
19
00:01:41.500 --> 00:01:47.300
Monday is something I use for work and I'm kind of obsessed.
20
00:01:47.300 --> 00:01:55.475
There's a lot of functionality with being able to use statuses like, you know, like it you can mark something is done ready to
21
00:01:55.475 --> 00:01:58.200
review you can customize what those statuses are.
22
00:01:58.400 --> 00:02:00.300
You can assign people to it.
23
00:02:00.300 --> 00:02:05.700
There's notifications any kind of functionality you would need with a project management system for a team.
24
00:02:05.800 --> 00:02:09.000
Monday has it I personally haven't tried using it.
25
00:02:09.400 --> 00:02:14.900
Just for myself, and I don't know that I would see it being super helpful.
26
00:02:14.900 --> 00:02:22.746
If it was just me because I don't need that notification function that Monday really helps with a lot but it's very cool for
27
00:02:22.746 --> 00:02:23.400
team stuff.
28
00:02:23.400 --> 00:02:33.300
If you need that base camp is another team project management tool I've used and that one's pretty interesting as well.
29
00:02:33.600 --> 00:02:39.000
I will say I probably prefer Monday in a lot of ways.
30
00:02:39.500 --> 00:02:49.028
But I definitely see base camp is being easier to use for uploading Graphics files chatting back and forth with people that has
31
00:02:49.028 --> 00:02:51.100
like an instant message function.
32
00:02:51.900 --> 00:02:58.211
I'm trying to think what else there's calendars and stuff like that that I'm not sure that Monday has but I could be entirely
33
00:02:58.211 --> 00:02:59.000
wrong on that.
34
00:03:00.600 --> 00:03:09.100
Next is Google Sheets in this for me is like the OG project management blog organization thing I used to you.
35
00:03:09.300 --> 00:03:17.906
Is Google Sheets heavily for all of my blog staff for project management for work all of that because obviously it's free and I
36
00:03:17.906 --> 00:03:25.796
bet you basically would build spreadsheets honestly, if you don't know how to do spreadsheets in general you need to learn how
37
00:03:25.796 --> 00:03:30.100
it's a it'll give you an edge for your career for sure.
38
00:03:30.500 --> 00:03:39.180
I will say that and it's so nice to be able to know how to use that to make it function first so many different things like it's
39
00:03:39.180 --> 00:03:42.900
not just a tool for budgeting and accounting and all that stuff.
40
00:03:42.900 --> 00:03:48.000
It's very much can be something for you know, a marketing calendar or anything.
41
00:03:48.100 --> 00:03:50.800
I mean really it's got so much flexibility.
42
00:03:50.800 --> 00:03:53.500
Although not nearly as much as notion.
43
00:03:54.200 --> 00:04:04.280
So notion is definitely your go-to if you want basically like all-in-one like to do lists and spreadsheets and repeat processes
44
00:04:04.280 --> 00:04:06.200
and all the things.
45
00:04:06.400 --> 00:04:09.100
I'm obsessed bullet journaling.
46
00:04:09.300 --> 00:04:16.200
Something that I used to do all the time and I have found that I'm not in a spot anymore where it makes sense for me.
47
00:04:16.600 --> 00:04:25.025
I loved it as a student and freelancer but especially as a student but I haven't found that I've had the time for it since
48
00:04:25.025 --> 00:04:25.700
finishing school.
49
00:04:26.200 --> 00:04:32.034
I just feel like digital makes more sense for me now because I'm on the computer constantly, but also just having something that
50
00:04:32.034 --> 00:04:36.600
I don't have to put in a ton of work to build these new spreads and what not.
51
00:04:36.600 --> 00:04:38.800
Like I need something that's a little quicker.
52
00:04:39.200 --> 00:04:43.900
Sort of thing next a couple of paper planners that I wanted to share about.
53
00:04:43.900 --> 00:04:50.833
I've shared about the passion Planner on my blog before I'm a definitely a big fan of having the separate work in personal to-do
54
00:04:50.833 --> 00:04:54.300
list that they have in there as along with the hourly layout.
55
00:04:54.400 --> 00:05:01.876
It's a really great just basic black and white planner, but also definitely allows you to focus on a lot of different areas in
56
00:05:01.876 --> 00:05:02.500
your life.
57
00:05:02.500 --> 00:05:04.200
It has a lot of good prompts in there.
58
00:05:04.700 --> 00:05:13.327
I'm really I really like that one and next I just D life map daily planner, which is Michelle bees planner actually and on
59
00:05:13.327 --> 00:05:18.000
YouTube She's Michelle with the you instead of an eye just to clarify.
60
00:05:18.400 --> 00:05:22.500
I'm definitely really excited to get that planner and get started.
61
00:05:22.500 --> 00:05:29.200
It's a 12 or 13 weakling Arts last quarter of the year and definitely has a lot of prompts and stuff.
62
00:05:29.200 --> 00:05:37.136
But I guess I'm feeling like I need a little more daily focus and trying to stay more in tune with my goals on a day-to-day
63
00:05:37.136 --> 00:05:40.800
basis outside of my work my full-time job if that makes sense.
64
00:05:40.800 --> 00:05:43.100
So I'm excited to dig into that.
65
00:05:43.300 --> 00:05:48.600
Those are just a few of the things that I've been playing with recently and over the years in general.
66
00:05:48.700 --> 00:05:57.340
Let me know what project management and organization tools you use and I would love if you would give this podcast to follow
67
00:05:57.340 --> 00:06:02.600
subscribe all that stuff shared if you liked it, and I think that's it.
68
00:06:02.700 --> 00:06:05.900
So I will talk to you again soon.
