Part 2 - Winning the Battles that Matter Most RECAP FROM PART 1… MEN: God created you with the heart of a WARRIOR. The Lord is my strength and my song; he has become my salvation. He is my God, and I will praise him, my father’s God, and I will exalt him. The Lord is a warrior; the Lord is his name. (Exodus 15:2-3, NIV) • We are created to fight for what’s RIGHT. • We are called to win the battles that MATTER MOST. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- TWO PRINCIPLES TO FIGHT FOR WHAT’S RIGHT AND TO WIN THE BATTLES THAT MATTER MOST: 1. Sometimes you THROW a PUNCH. (metaphor) Then Samson prayed to the Lord, “Sovereign Lord, remember me again. O God, please strengthen me just one more time. With one blow let me pay back the Philistines for the loss of my two eyes.” 29 Then Samson put his hands on the two center pillars that held up the temple. Pushing against them with both hands, 30 he prayed, “Let me die with the Philistines.” And the temple crashed down on the Philistine rulers and all the people. So he killed more people when he died than he had during his entire lifetime. (Judges 16:28-30, NLT) 2. Sometimes you TURN a CHEEK. He shall say: “Hear, Israel: Today you are going into battle against your enemies. Do not be fainthearted or afraid; do not panic or be terrified by them. 4 For the Lord your God is the one who goes with you to fight for you against your enemies to give you victory.” (Deut. 20:3-4, NIV)
