Part 3 of Series: “Becoming a Transformational Church”Acts 11:19-30 By Rev. Dr. Robert Lee“Innovation” Defined: Innovation refers to “The act of introducing something NEW. Something newly introduced.” The innovating organization will try things. It successfully redefines FAILURE and sees in it the opportunity to learn new things that will enhance chances for success in the future.” Four Innovations at Antioch:1. The establishment of the CHURCH itself (by some anonymous heroes)—Acts 11:19-21.2. The establishment of a TEACHING ministry—Acts 11:22-26a.3. The disciples were first called CHRISTIANS—Acts 11:26b.4. The first intentional MISSIONARY movement—Acts 13:2-3.Takeaways for Today:1. We must innovate for a REASON.2. We must be open to the SPONTANEOUS movement of the Holy Spirit.3. Serve God according to what we DO have and not out of what we DO NOT have.4. Dig some DITCHES—2 Kings 3:14-20
