This episode is Sunday’s teaching from Galatians 4. It explores Paul’s powerful contrast between the slavery of the Law and the freedom of the Gospel. Using illustrations like the household servant charged with disciplining the children, Roman adoption, and the story of Hagar and Sarah, we see that the Law was never meant to save us, but only to lead us to Christ. Through Jesus, we are no longer slaves living under fear and performance, but sons and daughters adopted into a direct relationship with the Father through the Holy Spirit. Paul passionately warned the Galatians not to return to the bondage of legalism after experiencing the freedom of grace, reminding us that salvation and transformation come through faith in Christ alone, not through law keeping.
