Dr. Edwin Jones and Rev. Michael Thompson joined us to discuss an initiative that helps us instill biblical family values and invest in our children.
Dr. Edwin Jones, Living Faith Baptist Church and Ministries International is a native Washingtonian, is an ordained preacher and has earned two doctoral degrees, Doctor of Ministry and a Ph.D. from the Andersonville Baptist Theological Seminary. He is the former President of Faith Christian University and Schools - Maryland. He has served in both the United States Marine Corps and the California Army National Guard. He has been a guest lecturer at Emory University and Wake Forest University and at several conventions and conferences throughout the United States and South Africa. Dr. Jones serves with OneHeartDC facilitating ministry in the inner city, including various evangelism training and outreach activities. He also serves as the Coordinator for the Generations Initiative DC Parenting Training Program. He is married to Dr. Karyn C. Jones, he is a father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
Rev. Michael Thompson, serves as Sr. Pastor-Teacher at Bethesda Baptist Church in the Ivy City neighborhood of Washington, DC. He is Chairman of the Board of Child Evangelism Fellowship DC and serves in a catalytic role for the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association. He has a heart for evangelism and community transformation. He is presently pursuing an advanced degree at Dallas Theological Seminary, Virginia Campus. Prior to being called into full-time ministry, Pastor Mike served as a health administrator at a local hospital system in Washington DC. He and his wife Vera have four children, Erika, David, Keturah and India.
