In this message from the Come and See series, we explore Jesus’ first sign at the wedding in Cana (John 2:1–11). When the wine runs out, Jesus steps into a moment of shame and lack and reveals His glory by turning water into wine.
John calls this miracle a sign—because it points beyond itself to who Jesus is. At a wedding, using stone jars meant for purification, Jesus introduces the joy, abundance, and grace of the new covenant.

This message looks at:

  • Why Jesus began His ministry at a wedding
  • What the wedding and the wine symbolize
  • How Jesus fulfills the law and brings something better
  • Why belief—not amazement—is the goal

These signs were written so that we may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God—and by believing, have life in His name (John 20:31).
