What if the gospel is about more than meeting the minimum requirements for entering heaven?
In Mark 1:14–15, Jesus announced that the Kingdom of God had come near. His invitation was not simply to believe something that would affect us after we die, but to rethink the way we live today because God’s Kingdom is available to us through Him.
Our friend Aaron Escamilla from New Community Church explores the difference between a gospel focused primarily on managing sin and the good news of God’s Kingdom. Jesus invites us to put our confidence in Him and partner with God in bringing the reality of heaven into the places, relationships, and situations directly in front of us.
This week, pause and pray:
“Yahweh, Your Kingdom come, and Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.”
Then ask the Holy Spirit, “How can I partner with You in bringing heaven to earth this week?” Be ready to do what He says.
