I Am The True Vine | Reveal Church | Chris Morris

Hello welcome to our Reveal podcast,

Today we’re reflecting on one of Jesus’ most powerful metaphors from Gospel of John, chapter 15 “I am the true vine.”

In this image, Jesus describes Himself as the vine, God the Father as the gardener, and us as the branches. The message is simple but deep, just as branches can’t survive or bear fruit without staying connected to the vine, we can’t truly thrive spiritually apart from Him.

To “abide” or remain in the vine means staying close to Jesus through faith, prayer, and obedience. When we do, our lives naturally produce “fruit”  love, patience, kindness, and purpose. But when we disconnect, we wither spiritually, like a branch cut off from its source.

There’s also a refining aspect God prunes the branches so they can grow stronger and bear even more fruit. It’s not always comfortable, but it’s part of spiritual growth.
