Ep. 23: Pursuit the Label
For The WTiN Podcast’s new series we focus on startups in the textile & apparel industry. From sustainable swimsuits to jackets inspired by NASA’s technology, we talk about products, the highs and lows of starting a business, and advice for others interested in entering this space.
In this first episode, we speak to Hannah Daykin, co-founder of the ethical swimwear brand Pursuit the Label. Daykin explains the inspiration for launching the company, challenges such as Covid-19, and how the business was given a PR boost last year when its designs featured on the popular British dating show Love Island.
Founded in 2017 by Daykin and Annabel Humphrey one year after they finished university, Pursuit The Label is a London-born, sustainable swimwear brand that uses quality recycled fabrics to create each individual piece. All the swimwear is designed and produced in London, created from soft, innovative Italian fabrics derived from Econyl, a recycled and regenerated fibre made from waste such as ghost fishing nets.
