00:02:45.039 --> 00:02:46.479 That is to bring Christ down. 00:02:46.639 --> 00:02:48.479 Or who will descend into the abyss? 00:02:48.639 --> 00:02:50.800 That is to bring Christ up from the dead. 00:02:50.960 --> 00:02:52.159 But what does it say? 00:03:35.520 --> 00:03:36.479 What does it say? 00:03:36.639 --> 00:03:37.680 You say, What do you mean? 00:03:37.840 --> 00:03:43.439 Paul talks off, starts off in verse 5, and in contrast, he talks about the righteousness that's based on the law in verse 5. 00:03:43.599 --> 00:03:45.759 And then in verse 6, he talks about the righteousness. 00:03:45.919 --> 00:03:49.360 Now, when you see the word righteousness in the Bible, think of it this way. 00:03:52.159 --> 00:03:55.280 It's asking the question, how does a person get right with God? 00:03:55.599 --> 00:03:57.919 Righteousness is how do you get right with God? 00:03:58.080 --> 00:04:01.199 Now in verse 5, he says there's a righteousness that's based on the law. 00:04:01.360 --> 00:04:04.719 In verse 6, he says there's a righteousness that is based on faith. 00:04:04.960 --> 00:04:10.159 The righteousness that is based on the law, he said the person that lives that way, he does those things. 00:04:10.240 --> 00:04:20.319 In other words, if you believe by keeping the law, by keeping the rules, that's how you get right with God, then what you've got to do is live your entire life and never break one rule. 00:04:20.560 --> 00:04:22.639 Never violate one law. 00:04:23.519 --> 00:04:26.240 Never go against any one thing the Bible says. 00:04:26.319 --> 00:04:31.759 Because if you if your righteousness, if you're being right with God is based on that, then you've got to keep all that. 00:04:31.920 --> 00:04:33.680 And so how do how do you think about that? 00:05:56.560 --> 00:06:00.639 Or, ladies, what would you like to say to your parents or to your husband and your children? 00:06:00.800 --> 00:06:02.079 That's what Moses is doing. 00:06:02.160 --> 00:06:07.040 It is condensed, packed down, rich, alluvial, fertile soil. 00:06:07.199 --> 00:06:14.160 Moses stands up in Deuteronomy 30, and this is kind of his farewell speech to these people that he's loved and led for a long time. 00:06:14.319 --> 00:06:24.000 And he says this starting in verse 9 The Lord your God will make you abundantly prosperous in all the work of your hand, in the fruit of your womb, and in the fruit of your cattle, and in the fruit of your ground. 00:06:24.160 --> 00:06:28.639 For the Lord will again take delight in prospering you as he took delight in your fathers. 00:06:28.720 --> 00:06:30.639 Now I don't have time to preach this, but let me just say this. 00:06:30.800 --> 00:06:39.680 When he says the Lord will again take delight in prospering you, what you ought to hear in that is that God's intention all along has been to take care of his people. 00:06:39.839 --> 00:06:42.959 Now, prospering you doesn't always come with a dollar sign. 00:06:43.040 --> 00:06:43.920 You know that, right?
