though it gets dark and it feels like it's just a dog-eat dog world out there, and we're tempted to just kind of get real transactional and just think every man for himself, the hope of the gospel. 00:03:18.240 And I want to talk to you about the Advent of Love. 00:03:18.400 --> 00:03:21.520 I mean, the Advent is a word that means arrival or coming. 00:03:21.680 --> 00:03:23.360 So we talk about the Advent of Low. 00:03:23.439 --> 00:03:37.039 We're saying that a way of being loved was established by God in the incarnation, in the fact that God entered into the cosmos and was born in the womb of a virgin, that God established a standard. 00:03:37.120 --> 00:03:38.800 And let me just give you a picture for what I mean. 00:03:38.960 --> 00:03:47.039 When you understand that, and what I'm gonna try to do briefly this morning is kind of just kind of point to some things in the Bible and say, hey, here's how unique this is. 00:03:47.360 --> 00:03:57.520 But once you understand the way God loves you and the implications of being loved by God in that way, because it'll start off and he'll say, see what kind of love the Father has given to us. 00:03:57.680 --> 00:04:02.639 And when he says see, that word in the Greek doesn't mean look with your eyes, it means perceive with your mind. 00:04:02.879 --> 00:04:10.240 And once you perceive with your mind the way God has loved you, it brutal divorce uh years earlier, and then she met somebody and she said, I mean, we really love each other, we're really excited, but I want you to meet him because your opinion means a lot to me, the advent of love, John says some things got introduced to us and imposed upon us, which is why he says, see, which is uh I said a minute ago, it's not seeing with the eyes as much as it is perceiving with your mind to take it in and to immerse yourself in this is not an experience, it's an understanding. 00:09:35.759 --> 00:09:38.639 And then he says these two words, what kind of love? 00:09:38.799 --> 00:09:45.919 And literal translation from the Greek is see, not instead of what kind, what country, what does this kind of love come from? 00:09:46.080 --> 00:09:48.639 It doesn't come from a country, it comes from a kingdom. 00:09:48.799 --> 00:09:53.519 And so when you uh immerse your mind in the text this morning, what you'll see is three things. 00:09:53.919 --> 00:09:56.159 Number one is that this love is transforming. 00:09:56.399 --> 00:09:57.679 This love is transforming. 00:09:57.759 --> 00:10:01.440 This love, it's not transformative, it's this ongoing reality. 00:10:01.519 --> 00:10:10.720 It's not a transformative event where you agree with some things about yourself and Jesus when you're nine at vacation Bible school, and that's all well and sentimental and good and everything. 00:10:10.879 --> 00:10:16.799 Uh, nobody is transformed simply by what we agree with, but you're transformed by what you experience. 00:10:17.200 --> 00:10:18.320 word transformation because it seems to suggest that who I am as I am is not okay. 00:10:59.120 --> 00:11:03.519 And the Bible is unapologetic in that when it says, yes, everybody needs to change. despair. 00:15:15.360 --> 00:15:30.799 The sin that believes in nothing, cares for nothing, seeks to know nothing, interferes with nothing, enjoys nothing, hates nothing, finds purpose in nothing, lives for nothing, and remains alive because there's nothing for which it will die. 00:15:32.080 --> 00:15:38.639 And the Bible says in a lot of part of verse 1 there, the reason why the world does
