The Rock Family Sermon of the Week

The Impossible Gospel - Pastor Britt Silcox

The Rock Family Worship Center

Pastor Britt kicks off our new series, "Believing For The Impossible," reminding us that Jesus challenges us to move spiritual truth from head knowledge to heart transformation, confronting areas where we've held back from full surrender.

• Salvation is FOR me – the rescue operation where Christ's sacrifice addresses our sin and offers forgiveness
• Salvation is IN me – Jesus actively heals our deception and breaks the power of darkness
• Salvation is THROUGH me – God's kingdom power flows through our surrendered lives
• The rich young ruler couldn't release his grip on possessions, preventing him from experiencing God's kingdom
• We all have "contested ground" where we're still battling for control instead of surrendering to Jesus' lordship
• Jesus is stronger than any darkness, deception, or stronghold in our lives
• Every act of enemy-love and sacrificial giving allows kingdom power to flow through us
• We must decide: will we participate in God's cosmic victory or hold onto our own way?

Will you allow the Holy Spirit to show you the contested ground in your heart today? Surrender those areas completely to Jesus's lordship and watch His power transform you and flow through you.

Speaker 2:

I want to caution you, because there's a lot of times, there's a lot of things in life that we think we know, but they haven't quite moved from head knowledge to heart knowledge, they haven't moved into practice, they haven't moved into action, they haven't moved into behavior. So we're going to have to kind of keep that tension today, amen. So we're going to have to kind of keep that tension today, amen. You know, just even thinking about that this morning on the drive in, I was like you know, even as a family, you can probably think of some things that, um, your children think they know, and they do know, but it's just locked. There's there's a, there's a padlock right here. Like I walked in this morning to see my children's bedrooms and the problem is not that they don't know that the clothes go in the drawer, right, but there's clothes everywhere, all over the floor. You know, there's some things. In fact, let me just see if you can guess which family member this is. It'll be more fun this way. So there's a family member who knows they cannot eat chips and salsa. If they eat chips and salsa all night long, they're going to have heartburn and they're going to burp and they're going to disrupt the other person sleeping ever so lovely in that bed, but they just keep eating the chips and salsa. But they just keep eating the chips and salsa. He's denying that all day long. And like, here's one for me. Like, I know how to drive, I really, really do. Now, on my driver's test I did actually hit the car in front of me, but that was many years ago and they still passed me. And here I am today. But I'm just going to say my children could attest that mama hits a lot of curbs and you know, there's some things that they were in process of knowing. Right, that's what we're talking about today. All right, right, let's see if I can get my everything up and running where it needs to be. Here we go.

Speaker 2:

I'm going to read you this quote anyone who supposes that there is now no longer any need for him to prayerfully search for a fuller understanding needs to ponder. If any man think he knoweth anything, he knoweth nothing Yet, as he ought to know. 1 Corinthians 8.2. The fact is, the moment that any of us start to take for granted what we already know on something in the Bible, we cut ourself off from any further light. Let's pray, jesus, you are here. It's so evident. God, we thank you that you are here. Holy Spirit, would you bubble up today in every heart, every person here, with fresh, living water? Would you reframe our hearts, would you refocus our minds, would you teach us new things? Would you call us up God, would you create in us everything that you already wrote about in the books? God, we love you today. We praise you in Jesus name, amen.

Speaker 2:

Okay, let's start with our text. We're going to read. You're going to open your Bibles to Matthew, chapter 19, 16 through 19. The rich, young ruler, remember, I said you're going to read. You're going to open your Bibles to Matthew, chapter 19, 16 through 19. The rich, young ruler, remember. I said you're going to be like.

Speaker 2:

I already know this story. And behold, a man came up to him saying teacher, what good deed must I do to have eternal life? And he said to him why do you ask me about what is good? There's only one who is good. If you would enter life, keep the commandments, he said to him well, which ones? And Jesus said you shall not murder, you shall not commit adultery, you shall not steal, you shall not bear false witness, honor your father and your mother and you shall love your neighbor as yourself. It was a long passage, so I just split it up Verse 20, let's keep reading. The young man said to him hey, all these I've kept good news. But it wasn't good news because he still knew something was missing inside, which is why he said but what do I still lack? And Jesus said to him well, if you want, if you want to be perfect, go sell what you possess and give to the poor, and you have treasure in heaven and come and follow me. And when the young man heard this what do we already know Because you've already read this story he went away. What Sorrowful, because he had great possessions.

Speaker 2:

Now, right here, at this moment, the disciples are with Jesus. They've watched this interaction. They're watching this man turn away, sorrowful, not getting the very thing that he was genuinely seeking for. And so I love how Jesus operates with his disciples. He pulls them off to the side for a little teachable moment. Where's my mamas in the house? Actually, mamas, daddies, grandparents, teachers, youth leaders everybody in the room.

Speaker 2:

Don't miss what Jesus does as he's training up his disciples. We don't ever want to miss a teachable moment. I absolutely love that. That like storybook picture in my mind, where the family gathers together every evening over a lovely home cooked meal and then they open the family Bible and they have the devotions together, where they go each around the room sharing what this has done in their heart, as the truth has landed upon them.

Speaker 2:

Not in our house, I don't know about your house, but you know what. I make sure that I don't miss the teachable moments. See, there's times to have devotions. Every time you're in the car, every time you're watching a show, every time you're watching a show, every time a song lyric comes on, every time they come home with a drama from school, every time they see something going on in mom and dad's life and they're watching how we're responding and processing hard things right. So we're going to take a note from Jesus. We're not going to miss a teachable moment. And that's what he does. He pulls them off to the side and he says I need a full-time helper clicker next time. Okay, jesus says to him look, look, look, come over here.

Speaker 2:

Truly, I say to you, only with difficulty will a rich man enter the kingdom of heaven. Again, I tell you, it's easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than a rich person to enter the kingdom of God. When the disciples heard this, they were greatly astonished. They take a step back and they start to now make it about them, because that's what we all do. Well then, who? Who can be saved? You know, I read this passage about a thousand times preparing for today and I have to be honest with you, the same thing that the disciples were feeling in that moment I feel every time I read it. It's very disconcerting, it's very uncomfortable that I'm envisioning this man who's genuinely seeking. What we do know about him is he's a rich, young ruler. We know that he is coming to say that he's done all the good things and he's saying what else can I do to earn? I wanna know. You know, I've heard debates, I've heard that there is a life after death, and I've heard that maybe it's good deeds to get me there, maybe it's charity or, you know, maybe it's just obeying the law in all of its fullness. But I really want to make sure. So, jesus, can you go ahead and tell me um, you're, you're a good teacher, I've heard you're good. Can you go ahead and tell me what else I need to do so that I can have what I'm looking for and Jesus lets them go See in the Bible Belt and in the South.

Speaker 2:

We don't like to let people leave disappointed, right, we like to people please, we like to get it together to make sure that everybody can have their happy, joy-filled experience. But if you had been there that day, what do you think you would have been feeling? I mean, maybe maybe just saying right off the bat, you might've just judged him. You might've, right off the bat, just seen rich, young, we'll throw in a handsome. Maybe he was, maybe he wasn't. We know that he had like influence because he's some sort of religious ruler, he's some sort of higher up in a religious circle. So, I don't know, maybe Smithlake's with us today.

Speaker 2:

Pastor Drew, I think this would have been you. I just feel like you would have been the one being like hmm, those rich people, they want their cake and eat it too, but not you, fayetteville. See, we're one church, one family, so we've got to pretend like we're all in the same room. Not you, fayetteville, because I know you have all those compassion people. You would have said but Jesus, oh, don't make it so hard for him. That's just too much to ask. He's such a good guy, I'm not going to leave Madison out. Who do I want to pick at Madison, carlos coming for you.

Speaker 2:

Look, man, didn't you hear? You just go to say the prayer. You didn't know the prayer. We all know the prayer. We learned it when we went witnessing. You know, jesus, I believe I'm saved. Yeah, but not here in Huntsville, cause, see, we got our Bible shredders, we got our ones that know the old Testament.

Speaker 2:

So you would have been thinking, you know, I do remember a story in the old Testament and God asked Abraham to give up something very precious. But you know what? In the end, he didn't really have to do it. So maybe you get to keep your stuff right. He didn't really have to do it. So maybe you get to keep your stuff right. But Jesus says it two times. It's easier for a rich man what does he say? The eye to put a camel to the eye of a needle. This also came to life yesterday, as last night at a very, very, very late hour, I'm having to hem these pants. Did you know that when you're five feet tall, they don't make clothes that fit you? Again, large men for the microphone, tall ladies for the clothing, as I'm trying to put a thread in that needle to hem these pants. I'm thinking of this scripture why, why would he say this?

Speaker 2:

Now, before we go on, I really want us to talk about these two areas, because I feel like we all need to start with the same working definition. That's real helpful when you're communicating, when we all are working from the same place. So let's start with the kingdom. So what do we know about the kingdom of God? Because, you know, in this passage we've got a lot of things being interchanged. We've got what must I do to be saved? How do I have eternal life? How do I enter into life? What is the kingdom of God? What is the kingdom of heaven? So let's talk about these. These are all the same.

Speaker 2:

We're talking about the kingdom of God. The kingdom of God is his rule and his reign, and his reign it's where he has authority, it's where his way and his will is executed every time. So let's talk about heaven. Is heaven a far, far, far off place? That is right above the clouds? Maybe, but heaven is actually where God is. It's where God sits, it's where he rules and reigns. It's a dimension that's probably not that far from us. That's why we feel thin places when we worship and we're like like today, I don't know about you this morning, I felt he was here. I felt him here. I felt him here. The kingdom we're talking about the kingdom. Well, in his kingdom he's the Lord of his kingdom, so it's his sovereign way. Okay, and we know all through scripture. But we've had people joke on us just from other denominations and traditions and backgrounds, and it's totally fine to do that.

Speaker 2:

Why y'all always using the word kingdom? Everything's about the kingdom. You got it on t-shirts, you got it on the wall. What's the big deal about the kingdom? The big deal is that's everything about the New Testament is that the kingdom of God that had been established in the garden that we lost came back when Jesus came on the scene. His rule and reign came back into the earth when Jesus came in human flesh. And what do we know is the end of the story? The end of the story is that one day, a new heaven and a new earth Right Is going to make everything new again. Make everything right. His kingdom will be fully come. So it has come, it is come and it will fully come. Talking about the kingdom of heaven, all right.

Speaker 2:

So why is it so hard for a rich person to enter this place of rule and reign of his lordship? Well, when we think about a rich person, they have resources, they have wealth. We know that not a lot about this man, but he must have had businesses, he must have had land. It could have been family money. Well, with resources and with wealth, what does that bring? Options, choices, agency. Yes, jesus has a way, but you know what? I've got a lot at my disposal. Do I really want to follow that way? See, it's real easy to go. Oh yeah, rich people. But see, compared to a first century Jew, every one of us would be wealthy. We're all the rich men in this story.

Speaker 2:

So, as we read the last verse 26, as they're so perplexed and confused and disheartened and concerned about their own salvation, jesus brings the good news. He looks at them. I think we forget that Jesus looks at us. I think we move so fast through life, through circumstance, through situations, that we forget that his eyes are always on us and that he's with us. He's with you today and he looks at them and says with man, this is what, but with God let's say it together All things are possible.

Speaker 2:

See, this man walked away before he got to hear that part. But the truth is he couldn't untangle himself from his belief that he needed to earn salvation. He couldn't untangle himself from his riches and his power and his choices. They said who can be saved? Hold on fixing my Come on, come on. The Holy Spirit must want time for you to think about that question. Just sit with it. Who can be saved?

Speaker 2:

Fayetteville, the first level of believing for the impossible. We came in here with song lyrics. We came in here with big needs, big face, big request, great need. And you know where it all starts. The first place we believe for the impossible is that salvation was. For me it's the rescue revelation. It's sad to me because we're in cultural Christianity, with people who have been in church for years and this still is here and not here.

Speaker 2:

It was the outrageous act of love for the fallen, cursed, oppressed humanity that broke the back of the cosmic evil holding us in slavery. Perfect love exposed and disempowered the evil of the destructive powers, erased the condemnation of the law that stood against us and freed us to receive the life giving Holy Spirit, who draws us into relationship and fellowship to walk with God. You know one of my favorite, favorite things to just I just say it all the time, I don't know why, but I just love it. Behold the lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world. It never gets old.

Speaker 2:

But you know, even though I believe that and it stirs my emotions I have found myself having to get back in alignment with this. The other day I realized I pass by a middle school every day and I do my best every day unless somebody's having a meltdown in the back seat to pray over these students as they're going in and out of their school. But I have found myself praying like this God, this generation, they're so lost, god. Would you just awaken them, god, would they turn? Would they wake up? Would they actually just stop all this stupid stuff? Would they just come to you, jesus, I'm sorry, I didn't find him and you didn't find him. He rescued you. So, god, we got to change our prayers. We need a rescue. We need to recognize who then can be saved. Salvation is for us, say for me, for me, salvation is for me. We can't fix ourselves. But then the other side of this is the big C church is really good at this part of the gospel we can share good news all day. Smile, jesus loves you. Hey, he's not mad. God loves you because we have accepted and received the for me part of salvation.

Speaker 2:

Also, where's my people in sales? Who's in sales marketing? Just wave at me. I know Fayetteville. Y'all be selling some generators out there.

Speaker 2:

What's the first thing we learn in sales? What's the first thing we learn in marketing? You got to make it easy, right, remove the barriers of entry, remove all the hindrances. It's got to be obvious. It's got to be fast. It's got to be quick, it's got to be simple. So when you're thinking of the gospel, you're thinking, oh, what's the easy way to get people in the door? But Jesus didn't do that. Why? You got to make it hard, jesus.

Speaker 2:

But if we stop, as the big C church with the God loves you, he's not mad at you, he did it all for you we lose the potency and the power of the gospel. That's in Romans 1, 16. You know this verse, for I am not ashamed of the gospel. It is the power of God. For who? Everyone who believes that power. See, the only problem that Jesus came to solve.

Speaker 2:

Last week we celebrated. He died on the cross, he rose. We always forget about ascension in our tradition. That's actually where he actually was enthroned, formally Like. He sits up there far above principality and power. Sits up there far above principality and power, his enthronement of his kingdom. The only problem that Jesus came to solve wasn't for that man to know where he was going after he dies.

Speaker 2:

In fact, I would say a bigger problem for you on the daily is not where you're going to be when you die. Although important, the greater problem that you have on the daily is the powers of darkness that parade themselves around you. They hide us light. They go after your children, they go after your marriage, they go after your family, after your bloodlines, after your generations, after your mental health, after your finances, after your peace. Would you agree? We fight evil constantly.

Speaker 2:

Fear. Am I the only one? See, I'm a Holy Spirit girl. I know how to pray and then, when I can, I know how to find ladies that can, but you know which one always comes back Fear. Colossians 2, 13.

Speaker 2:

Let's read this you were dead in your trespasses, the uncircumcision of your flesh, but God made you alive together with him, forgiven of all our trespasses. He canceled our debt. He stood against us with the legal demands. He set aside and nailed it to the cross. But this last verse, he disarmed the rulers and authorities. He shamed them and triumphed over them.

Speaker 2:

This is the second place that we have to believe for the impossible. It's the salvation. What was the first one? Salvation for me. This one is the salvation in me, salvation in me. Let me read these two verses Matthew 12, 22 through 29.

Speaker 2:

When Jesus heals the sick and he drives out evil spirits oh, I'm paraphrasing when Jesus heals the sick and drives out evil spirits, satan's dominion is departing and his kingdom is coming. See, when you read the New Testament Matthew, mark, luke and John and you start to read what Jesus did, it said that he came preaching, he came teaching. But what else did he come doing? Healing and delivering. So did he come healing and exercising demons? Because he just needed you to get your attention, so that you could believe that you're gonna have a good place to go after you die.

Speaker 2:

A lot of people think that they skip right over this. God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power. He went about doing good and healing all who were what Oppressed by the devil, for God was with him. Acts 10, 38. This was another thing that, although I know right, it's gotta move from here to here. This is the revelation that Jesus is stronger. In the Bible Jesus said the world is under siege by a strong man, but guess what, I'm stronger. He bound the strong man so that we could be healed and delivered. But we don't move it from here to here. Say in me salvation, in me, jesus heals our disease. Jesus heals our disease. 1 Peter 2, 24,. He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree that we might die to sin and live to righteousness. By his wounds you have been healed.

Speaker 2:

Am I talking about the Band-Aid I had to put on Jackson's heel last night for the tiniest little scratch that no one could see? What is it about a Bandaid with a child? It's all well, they can pick out one with a color and a character, not our disease. You know what your disease is, the same disease Adam and Eve had. It's a disease, disease of deception, a demonically induced disease of deception. See, the very same thing. They're here in the garden. They're in his kingdom, his rule and reign he plans to do be fruitful and multiply through them.

Speaker 2:

And they have a choice, and I always made it about the fruit. I don't know Cause I like fruit. Maybe I saw people was like I wonder what kind of fruit. Maybe it was really pretty and sparkly. A choice and I always made it about the fruit. I don't know because I like fruit. Maybe I always was like I wonder what kind of fruit. Maybe it was really pretty and sparkly and tasty. No, no, no, no, no, it's not about the fruit. See, we read through Western eyes.

Speaker 2:

This was a Hebrew idiom that meant a choice between always depending on God to know what is right for your life, or the knowledge to decide for yourself. Do I want to live my whole life dependent and tied to my creator, trusting and surrendering that his way is the right way, that he is the king of his kingdom, or do I want to have a little of both? Do I want to be like the rich man? Do I want to have my options? Do I want to have the knowledge to say well, you know what, I'm going to take some scripture because I like some of this stuff. She's saying it's not bad. Yeah, I like some of those song lyrics we were singing. Yeah, I'll take that. I'll take me some healing.

Speaker 2:

Adam and Eve chose to choose for themselves. That's the disease and that's the disease he came to heal in. You See, the rich man couldn't heal himself, because good works won't do that. Surrendering to the kingdom of God, surrendering to his choices, surrendering to what is right for us you can't read scripture Like I. Just you can't read scripture and not see the whole thing.

Speaker 2:

It's a cosmic battle between good and evil. The cross, the resurrection, the ascension. He does the impossible because he actually destroys the violent powers of deception against you, violent powers of deception against you. He pours his Holy Spirit, new spirit in us, gives us a new nature. This was a revelation for me, see, I'm giving you all the time, all the things he's got to fix in me. Isn't that good to know that you never graduate from Jesus school? See, we decided to start a school with not enough time and not enough money. So, not really, because we are following Jesus and believing that that's what he wanted us to do. So what do you do?

Speaker 2:

In that moment, you begin to pray, right? Well, remember that thing about fear that I said that keeps coming up, because he always comes back. I found my prayers very fearful. I found my prayers actually giving most of the glory and most of my vision to what's going on in a generation. And, god, how? How are we going to do this? How are we going to do this? Lord? I see the ones that you're going to bring, that you're going to transport from there to here. How are we going to do this? They need a miracle, they need a rescue. God, the sin is so great. How are we going to raise up a generation? And I started praying this prayer oh Lord, this generation is contested ground.

Speaker 2:

And one day the Holy Spirit woke me up, real, real early. He said I need you to stop praying that over this contested ground. Why are you praying that this is contested ground? Kingdom Heights is not contested ground. You start declaring that Kingdom Heights is holy ground. Why are you praying that this is contested ground? Kingdom Heights is not contested ground. You start declaring that Kingdom Heights is holy ground. Kingdom Heights is holy ground. This church is holy ground. Your campus is holy ground. Your home is holy ground because, see anywhere that you decide, he's the king, he's in charge. His rule, his reign, I'm surrendered to his lordship. Guess what this is? This is not contested.

Speaker 2:

You say, what does contested mean? It means there's a power struggle. It means we don't yet know who's going to win. We don't really know what's going to happen here. We don't know who's stronger, but guess what? We know Jesus is stronger. See, it's religious, it's a religious spirit.

Speaker 2:

I was praying over that in worship. Just like an iceberg, lord, just smash it. You ever just see stuff in worship. Ask him, say give me eyes to see. In the spirit I saw my words, which weren't my words. All I'm here. If y'all just need to know, lord, you can offer your body as a living sacrifice. I'm offering up my voice as a living sacrifice, but I saw my word is like an arrow going right into the heart of someone who's so hardened and so callous that you don't feel. You don't feel anymore. You're in here in worship and you see people getting excited and you're like I want to, but I ain't feeling nothing. See, jesus came to break the back of that because Jesus is stronger and his perfect love, his perfect love, pours into your heart and it breaks off deception and it breaks off lies. But you got to. Jesus is stronger. So my question today is where is the contested ground in your heart?

Speaker 2:

We just finished this great garden series. I loved every minute of it. If you missed even a single week, I encourage you to go listen to the podcast, get on YouTube. It was the most beautiful series, just lacing God's heart for people that all he ever wanted was a family, an unbroken relationship with you, and no matter what we did as humanity to mess it up, he always had a plan. He was always coming for you. He was always planning to rescue you. He just needed to get your attention so you could choose. Jesus is stronger. Attention so you could choose. Jesus is stronger.

Speaker 2:

So where is the power struggle? Where is the contested ground? I pray the Holy Spirit would show that to you. I pray that you would believe for the impossible there. I know where I'm going. I'm going to heaven. I know I believe I received. I received what he did for me. But what about in you? What about in you? You don't have to keep going. You don't have to keep living in a sin cycle. You don't have to stay bound. You don't have to be defeated. You don't have to have failure over and over and over again. You don't have to see things in the generations pass down and to continue to stay to your children and your grandchildren. Has anybody here got a revelation that you should just stop praying for your family and start praying for your children's, children's, children's children. Holy ground, everybody say holy ground.

Speaker 2:

The last part of this salvation through me, if you did not know the end of the story, jesus is restoring some things, all things. He is restoring all things. That's right. Some of you are in professions where you see the worst side of humanity. You see the darkest, deepest, most heinous things that people could ever succumb to. Jesus plans to redeem and restore all things, everything that the enemy stole, everything that the enemy has distorted and ruined. Jesus has a plan. There's a new heaven and a new earth that will come and actually make new again what is our normal, what is our existence, what is our reality? And this is the cool part Salvation is for you, salvation is in you, salvation is through you. We gotta stop just getting the little sample at Costco. Oh, just have the little bite, I want the whole meal.

Speaker 2:

The church he called us to be is the church that puts the beauty of the Lord on display. That is the microcosm of what the kingdom's going to look like. The church that says, oh, that racism's out there, prejudice is out there. Yeah, it is. If you didn't think that you need to wake up. Yes, it is. But guess what? This space is the family of God, the kingdom of God. We are the microcosm to say it's not here because his rule and reign is here and we operate the way he does. Your marriage is a microcosm of how Jesus loves his church. Everything we do we get the privilege to model what he's going to do in fullness when he comes Salvation through me. You know, I think about this because I want these things. I want these things so bad and I think sometimes we make them too fancy. Everybody say fancy, fancy. Did you know?

Speaker 2:

Every time you love your enemy, perfect love comes through you. Every time you've been slandered by somebody at work and you bless them and pray for them, the kingdom comes through you Every time you pray for those who persecute. You See, I don't feel like a lot of us have a lot of persecution, which is why it's so funny that we quote. I won't be ashamed of the gospel, but yet we kind of are. We're timid, we're timid, we're shy, we suck it up for ourself. Oh, more love for me, jesus. And walk right by somebody in darkness, brokenness, sorrow, depression, isolation, and yet the light, the perfect love. What's he want to do? How does he want to spread it Through you? You know, when you give sacrificially, the kingdom comes through you, not the oh well, I got my tax return and I already booked my vacation and there is a $20 refund left.

Speaker 2:

You know what I'm talking about, when you just have that fleeting thought what To give something to someone, and then quickly you pull that back. Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh. Where did that come from? That's the kingdom of God trying to come out through you. It's time that we be more loyal to his kingdom than to nationalism or a political party. We all know it. We know it Clap, say Holy Spirit, move it here to here. Holy Spirit, move it here to here.

Speaker 2:

All right, we either participate in God's comic victory, cosmic victory over the powers, or we don't. I just had to put this quote up here. When I read it I was like, well, I guess that's all we need to say. It's a choice. We're either going to be his hands, we're either going to partner with him, we're either going to receive this or we're not. And I think that's the choice today, as we launch into seven weeks of believing for the impossible.

Speaker 2:

You've got your list right now of all the miracles you need God to do, and this is where I feel like we need to start. We're going to believe for salvation, we're going to believe that we would be changed, we are going to believe that the things that are warring in us are gonna submit to the Lordship of Jesus, and we're gonna believe that the power of the living God is gonna flow through us. Can I get an amen? All right, campuses. I'm gonna let you end however you wanna end, but I am gonna to end this campus with a prayer and I really want you to pray with me. I don't want you to listen to me praying. I don't want you to just already be so excited. Oh, she, let us out early. We're so happy Cause you know what you can do, that and it'll sit right here, so let's just put our hands up.

Speaker 2:

Holy Spirit, Holy Spirit, we are your people. We are your people and you are here and Lord. We just come in faith, believing in the God of the impossible. God. We come today believing that you are the God of the impossible. You still do miracles, god. We're signing up today, all over again. We're signing up, god, to believe that we cannot earn. We cannot earn your perfect love, god. You are the God who rescues. God, we just put our hearts in your hand.

Speaker 2:

Today, god, we thank you for your rescuing power. If there's anybody that comes to mind right now that you know needs a rescue, I want you to begin to lift up their name. We lift up, we lift up people today. We lift up boys and girls, men and women all over our cities today, god, that are in need of a rescue. They're in need of your perfect love. They're in need of your light to shine on their face, god, to move away the veil from their eyes, to be able to see that you have a plan for them, to be able to see that you love them, god, and that you've already made a way, god, I thank you right now, god, that every person, lord, still battling that religious spirit that would say, well, yeah, he rescues, but you know what he didn't have to rescue me from? Very much, god.

Speaker 2:

We just surrender to you today, god. We repent, lord, for focusing on our good works. We repent, lord, for comparing ourselves to others to say, oh, look how good we are. Oh, lord, look at all the things we've done. God, we come up today and we just sign up all over again to say we believe God. What is impossible for man is possible with you and God.

Speaker 2:

We say today search our hearts, god.

Speaker 2:

Search our hearts, god. Search our hearts. Where is there contested ground? Holy Spirit, would you put your finger, just like you showed Jesus, the very thing that that man could not surrender control to you for God. Search our hearts and find the places, if there be any place, lord, that we've held back from you, any place, lord, that your lordship is not ruling and reigning in our thoughts.

Speaker 2:

God, we just offer up our thoughts to you today, lord, would you begin to search us, our thoughts, our desires, our appetites, god? We lay them on the altar today, god, and we receive the truth that you are stronger. Every cycle of sin, every lie that we believe today Jesus is broken by the power of your blood, god. I thank you, god, that today, lord, that you would begin, that you would begin to do a new work. You said the old is gone and the new has come. So, lord, I just pray, god, for my brothers and sisters.

Speaker 2:

Today, lord, we receive you by faith and God, we want you to do a full work in us, a full work. Come, holy Spirit, come and God. We just thank you, father, that as we start into this series, god, that you're going to begin to unpack more and more, because we're not going to say we already know, but, god, we're going to truly come before you and say would you allow your kingdom power to flow through me? I just want you to begin to, in your own words, just begin to say God, use me, god, whatever it takes, lord, god, use me, use me, lord, use me Jesus.

Speaker 2:

God, I don't wanna be a half Christian, lord, I wanna experience everything that you have, lord. We just thank you, god, for your truth today. We thank you for your power. Today, god, we thank you for your perfect love today. We commit today that we believe in miracles. We receive your miracle today, god, and we're going to go out of here carrying the truth and power that there is light for darkness. There is light for darkness, god. You've already made a way, lord. We thank you for it. In Jesus' name, everybody say amen.
