In pop culture, diabetes is a dramatic plot point. It usually misses the whole picture and reinforces negative stereotypes. Movies and TV shows that depict diabetes usually do it without any real research or understanding as to what we go through on a daily basis. And because T1D is an invisible disease, that makes it more difficult to portray properly.
