The Saints Walked Here: Why North America Is Holy Ground
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
On the Sunday of All Saints of North America, Fr. Theophan reflects on the holy men and women who brought the light of Christ to this continent and demonstrated that sanctity is not confined to distant lands or ancient times. From the missionaries of Alaska to the faithful witnesses who labored throughout North America, the saints reveal that the Gospel can take root in every culture and every generation.
Their lives remind us that holiness is possible here and now. The same grace that transformed the saints is offered to every Christian through life in the Church, prayer, repentance, and participation in the Holy Mysteries. As we honor the Saints of North America, we are called not merely to admire them, but to follow their example and pursue the life of Christ ourselves.
