Why Are We So Anxious? Christ Has the Answer

In this homily, Fr. Theophan reflects on Christ's command to "seek first the Kingdom of God" and the struggle many of us face with anxiety, security, and the pursuit of success.

Modern life teaches us to place our hope in education, careers, financial stability, possessions, and future plans. Yet these things can change in an instant. Illness, loss, uncertainty, and unexpected hardship remind us how fragile earthly security can be.

Drawing from the Gospel, Fr. Theophan explores Christ's call to root our hearts in God rather than in the temporary things of this world. When our peace comes from wealth, status, or circumstances, anxiety follows. But when our peace comes from Christ, we discover a stability that cannot be shaken by politics, economic uncertainty, illness, or loss.
