Tyres are generally one of the largest expenses associated with kart racing, so as drivers and mechanics we want to try squeeze every last ounce from the tyre life for our practice days. But this can get us caught out into making the kart handle amazingly, but then when we fit new rubber to the kart our times go slower.
We try find ways to minimise this happening so you're better prepared next time at a kart race.
