Giving Our Brains Good Thought Food - 3 Things to Keep in Mind - #164
One of the most mind-blowing things I have learned in my life is how what we let into our minds influences a lot of what we are able to create and do in our lives. Today I wanted to dive into this important topic and share some things that I think will be helpful as you seek to consume more thought food that will help you in your lives.
Amount - Our brains take in so much information at once it is easy to forget how the amount we are getting is influencing our other decisions and the quality of our thoughts looking forward. In general if you are consuming more than you are creating this is probably not a good thing. The thing to consider here is what is best for you and not just what is good for you.
When - If you were intending to get some things done and you ended up getting sucked into thought food you didn't want this isn't good. Having a clear schedule of when you are consuming thought food helps you avoid complacency and pointless binges, because you know you have that other time set aside for any consumption needs.
Provider and Intent - Considering where you are getting your information and thought food from is vital. This could be from your social media feed (notice how it is called a feed), your co-workers, any of that. Be careful and consider why this is being shared with you. It is being shared for free monetarily there is a reason for that. It is possible to starve yourself while at the same time consuming a ton of thought food. (see talk below)
