When Things Happen that You Can't Deny, That's Intuition!

Heather Drummond Season 2 Episode 14

I spoke with Kathy Price on Nov 2, 2020.  We spoke about how her horses brought her everything she is today in her work. Shifting from a science minded person into an understanding that there is so much more to the world than what can be proven. Kathy shared stories of her own journey as well as stories of some of her clients to give us an understanding of how intuition now shows up in her life.

Bio
Kathy comes from a scientific background gaining a BSc (Hons) degree in
Zoology in 1982. She happily admits this background gives her a healthy
sceptical outlook as well as the ability to apply a scientific perspective to all of
her work and discoveries.
Despite coming from a totally un-horsey background, from a very young age
horses have been a passion in her life. She is so grateful at how their presence
has not only connected her to wonderful people, but has also led her to
profound insights into the world of energy and connection.
In 2002 Kathy attended a horsemanship clinic which she describes as a spiritual
experience that turned her mind inside out. It was her experiences at this clinic
that led her directly into the world of energy and connection.
Many years of studying and practising different energetic modalities, as well as
seeking out information on energy, psychic phenomena, quantum physics,
consciousness and more, led Kathy to realising that everything is energy and
through that energy everything is connected.
Kathy’s work is called Point of Balance where being in balance equates to
health. During a session she acts as a facilitator or catalyst to help the person
or animal she is working with move back into balance at all levels - physical,
mental, emotional and spiritual.
Her work is carried out in person and at distance and she has clients all over
the world from the USA to Australia and New Zealand.
The family farm set in a stunning valley in the hills of mid-Wales has been
Kathy’s home for over 30 years. It is from here with gratitude and joy that she
works with clients and continues her exploration into connection, energy and
consciousness.

Heather:

Welcome to See'rs Be-ers, Knowers, and Doers, a podcast about intuition. Do you know what that is? Intuition to me, is that inner sense for knowing that something is true and yet I have no proof, but there's so many definitions and there's so many ways it can come. I'm looking to bring together and share with you some amazing guests. You have some amazing life stories and also some insights into how intuition can come. And I'm looking to gather those crows in the trees. I hope you're one of them. I hope that this podcast inspires you to be more connected to your intuition. And I hope that by doing that, we make the world a better place. Thanks for coming on this journey with me before we get started today, I would love to share some tools with you to help with stress and feeling overwhelmed, especially for the energetically sensitive person. Feel free to go to my store on my website at www.healingvitality.ca. Thanks so much for coming on this journey with me. So today I'm super excited to join Kathy Price with this podcast because it's just intuitively meant to be. So thank you so much, Kathy, for joining me today.

Kathy:

Thank you so much for asking. I'm so excited to be here. Having listened to some of your podcasts with the people that you have there, I'm just blown away. So thank you.

Heather:

Oh, well, like we were saying before, the call it's Warwick Schiller that actually put you on my radar screen. So we have that wonderful wizard to thank for that connection. Yes. I'm really kind of neat because I feel like I'm talking to a mirror image in some ways, when we connected before the call, I was like, Oh wow, you do that too. Oh, wow. You do that too. So it's going to be neat to see where this goes as we go forward. So, first question is I want to give you the floor and tell everybody about yourself and what you do. Tell us about yourself, Kathy.

Kathy:

Okay. Thank you. Okay. So I'm Kathy. I live in the Hills of Wales. I was born in London from a very, very, very young age. I think basically as soon as I could speak, all I asked for was a horse. And this was quite strange in that both I lived in the suburbs of London. There were no horses, neither of my parents had any idea about one end of a horse from another. And there were two theories about why I became mad. One is my dad's was Polish first generational Pol and his uncle back in Poland was horse mad. So we might have a bit of a genetic link through there, but the other one, which I prefer is that at a very young age, probably, I don't know, 18 months, two years, apparently I fell off donkey on Paignton Beach. And my mom always says w hen you m ust've just knocked your head and that actually accounts for a lot of things. So I don't know, I never did get to ask her about health and safety on that one. But obviously I, so anyway, yeah, so the horse has been my passion and far from growing out of it, I got worse and worse and worse. And I look back now from this point. And I think that horse was one of the intuitions was one of my leading p aths through this life. Because when I look at where I am now, I'm here because of horses. No other reason, it in this exact spot now I am definitely. The two horses that I've had in my life. One of them led me to the healing aspect of s tuff, t he energy work, and the other one has expanded that and led me deeper into it. And the horse I have now Teazel she's, u m, a n ine y ear o ld p re Andalusian mare she is just my teacher. She is like a benevolent being that looks down in the nicest possible way at me, as s oon a s i t goes. Yeah, you haven't g ot it yet quite, but don't worry. W e're working well very well done. And yeah, sorry. Got a bit w rong didn't I. So, u m, yeah, the horses have been massive teachers very briefly. What happened? I had a horse, u h, in 1992, my husband bought me a horse. We had a bit of a bargaining going on on the farm where he wanted a quad bike and I wanted a horse and there was always sort of friendly banter about which we should have. And he very kindly bought me l ot 33, which was very significant, u h, C aitlin Bay cross thoroughbred from H ereford market. U h, she was just two r ising three when I had h er. And the thing about Cleveland bays, which is a current horse, indigenous native to Great Britain B ritain up in the Northeast, is t hat actually have the word intractable, meaning stubborn in their standard. That, that, so I didn't know if it's at the time I loved Cleveland bays c ause I used to ride across. I found t hat subsequently because yeah, she m ust don't make me, you can't make me do anything. And if I w ish h as coincided, everything was fabulous. If t hey didn't, I had to sit there and scratch my head and look for a different way. So that's the whole reason that I ended up at a horsemanship clinic in 2002 with a g uy called L en Chard. And I went there thinking I was going to learn how to, you know, move my horse, which l eg t o u se r ange, blah, blah, blah. It ended up a spiritual experience. I was crying my eyes out the whole time, but they were tears of wonderment o f, Oh my God, I never realized. And he t alks energy and he t alked on a completely different level that I'd never heard of. Oh, it was, it was totally amazing. And it was because of that horse. I t w as because of w ho she was t hat I went there because I was looking for ways of answers of how to communicate, how to do things. So I came back from that course on a Sunday evening and the first thing that happened, and one thing L en said to me was now the dreams will start. And Wednesday night I had a dream about him and his wife, N ina and their family. And I just knew they had two sons, but the dream was about l and Nina three and a girl. And prior to that b etter, t he dream I'd been with Nina picking u p u nder, we were walking in s and j eans, looking for lavender and picking lavender. So that was the start. Then it went into, we were looking for the children. Then we were in a restaurant and it's so clear. I can see it today. And w e were sat there and there were three boys and one girl, and I just had this feeling of f ar Eastern. You know, it could be Chinese Japanese didn't know. And I met, I knew that Len was, he was Australian, but he was working out of California and Nina was this and still is i t's most o f t he beautiful six foot tall, dark skinned. And I automatically thought sort of Hispanic, y ou're Mexican, maybe that, y ou k now, generations down don't know beautiful people. So I had this dream and it was so clear. I thought I've got to ring and they w ere still in Wales. So I rang and I spoke to Nina and I didn't lead her at all. I just said, Nina, you know, what's the significance of l avender to you? She said, Oh my God. She said, it's my favorite s cent. I was out buying s ome today and I can remember t he prickles going down my back, t hat sort of hackles going, Oh my God, where's this going? So then I said, okay, I had this dream. I never, you know, I know you've got y our l and of two boys, but there were three boys and a girl and she went, yeah, that's what children I have. I have a boy and a girl from a previous marriage. So again, O h m y g oodness. A nd then I finally said, and there was this whole hog just c hucking another, you know, there was this far Eastern sort of feel or that. And she went, yeah, I'm Indonesian. That was the moment I s orta dropped the phone a nd w ent, okay, I d on't k now what's going on now. So that was the sort of start of it where I have to accept. There was something e lse going o n because I come from a scientific background in that I did a science degree measure it, replicate it, prove it, I believe you otherwise. I really don't want to know. So I, I was being opened up to the fact, y eah, explain that one then Dear. And it got pretty. So then, and this really was t he pivotal moment in that it led me into the path I'm now I was just desperate to find out more information about what on earth had happened at that clinic. W ell, what was going on? And I was in the local bookshop in Aberystwyth, which wasn't massive, as you can imagine. And I picked a book up a nd Reiki now I had no idea what Reiki was. Someone h ad once mentioned it that somebody down the road did it and I had no interest and it fell open h aha. On a page, which it d escribed what some people experience when they have an a ttunement in Reiki. And it was basically what I'd experienced at that clinic. So the only reason that I went for a Reiki attunement was I wanted more, complete self-interest but once I started it was okay. Yeah. Right. I'm into this. So I did Reiki one and then a bit later I did Reiki t wo and then a bit later I did Reiki three and the teaching l oved it, worked with it. You know, I u sed t he pendulum for scanning and all sorts, y ou k now, i t's r eally c ool.

Heather:

Yes.

Kathy:

Um, I started to get, I don't know what the word would be. I mean, basically I think I'm lazy. And with Reiki, there's a lot of symbolism and words and I say, do I have to do, would it work if I don't do it? So it was that, that then took me on a deeper search and I looked for other modalities and I went through two or three Quantum touch a goodness, all of them really enjoyed, but they're all bits that glitched with me that I don't know that I see, see, we are parallel life.

Heather:

Isn't it all. Just energy. Like I said, can we just tap into the energy

Kathy:

When you say you were way ahead of me there because my little scientific brain was still going. Yeah, what's going on? What's going on? And anyway, so I still don't know where, but I found a book called reconnective healing here, obviously yourself by Eric Pearl. And it sets about a process called the Reconnection. And I thought I've got to have that. I've got to have that. But of course I eat in the wild whales and all of the clinicians were either in London or America, Germany, Japan. Yay. No, don't think I'm going there. And I remember I kept going back to the site and I did find a girl in South Wales, but every time I set up to go there, something happened. I mean, husband broke his arm, you know, there was like, Oh, I can't go. Can't go. And then one day I happened to look and there was someone just outside Aberystwyth appeared. So the base is went, had this Reconnection, she it, which was a wild experience. And then she told me you've got to go and do the work. You've got to do the course. So I went to London in the following may, this was November of the following. May it must've been about 2003, 2004 or maybe a bit later actually. But anyway, so that was when I found what the universe does to me in the sense that it shows me something, which I cannot deny, even though I can't explain and goes there you are dear now move along, get onto the next bit. There's no deed value. And in this particular instance, because you know, my little skeptic brain was there going, yeah, me, okay. 180 people divided into 60 people in each room, three different teachers. One of whom was Eric Pearl, who all of this stuff had first come from, who no longer worked with anybody. And on the second day, right at the end, when they bring everything together, he called me up onto the stage to be the sort of the person lying on the table for him to demonstrate. So basically I got a treatment of narrative and again, it was the universe going now you cannot deny that you've actually got what's going on here because that comes from source. And this is how it's. So basically that was where I went. And I worked with that for several years. Absolutely loved it because there was no ritual whatsoever. It was what you said is as you do it, just, just connect and do it. And then I sort of, I decided to be me rather than a label on me. You know, you are this practitioner, the dark, I was just, no, I'm just me. And so that's where my present modality point of balance came from. Um, yeah. And that's where I'm at now.

Heather:

Love, love, love when a hodgepodge comes together and it becomes the uniqueness of a person because that, that's how I've led my practice too. It's like, okay, well, I've trained here, gone there, done this because every person has their frequency. Every person has their energy and, and people will resonate with you if they need, you know, your toolbox. And what's so cool is that you do work at a distance with people and animals. And so if anything here resonates with people is they will be able to find you and say, Hey, you know, I don't know what it is about that lady, but I need to connect with her and have her toolbox work on me. And it's so cool. Cause I mean, I don't mean disrespect when I say isn't it just energy. I don't mean disrespect because people will stick to those modalities can do some amazing work. But when the Maverick in us says, you know, let's do something different. I think that's also very cool because that is listening to your personal intuition and, and saying, well, no, I need to be out of the box because what, what I do is out of the box over here and it needs to be what I do because you're intuitively led to do that. So all of this just makes perfect sense to me. And I'm so glad that you put your scientific mind kind of at ease. I know Kerrie Lake and other podcast guests would say, give your mind something to think about so that you can do what you need to do. And I know that, you know Kerri.

Kathy:

Yeah, no, I think you make such good point because I've been thinking about this lately. I just, she said every modality out there and every person that does things and does something is right for somebody, you know, that it'll resonate and they all have their place. And I know I can it to say, you wanted to learn mathematics. You might have six different teachers teaching in different ways. And one of them will resonate with you. And basically they're doing the same thing, but that energy, that, that vibration is what you're looking for. And as you said, we are all just vibrating energy. So it is that connection with a person and you go, Oh, that feels right. And I always say that to everybody who gets in touch with me, talk to me, ask me questions. I've got to be the right person. And if I'm not a hundred percent, no problem at all, because I know when it feels like, and you've got to be at ease, I know, you know, feel good that, yeah, you're the person I want to, but I, just ask as many questions as you want to find out that fact, because there's no point otherwise,

Heather:

Well, and people have to be comfortable to be vulnerable. I mean, I have a lot of clients who come for one appointment and some of them may come back in five years, four years, two years. And it's just because it wasn't the right timing sometimes or I said something that just blew their head because they thought of it that way. And that's okay. And I'm not the right person for everybody, but I'm like you, I don't want to know anything about the horse or the person before I get started because I don't want to bias what their body's going to tell me because I love fixing puzzles. And so I think you're kind of the same that you just want a blank slate. So that here, it's a way to keep our egos out of it kind of thing.

Kathy:

Exactly. Oh, you say so much truth. There's so much truth because I, I always think how can one person and also a, another person know what the person you're working with or the washer work with what they've been through. You can't, you can't know that at the age of three, somebody says something and that set the pattern up in their body that they're now experiencing the bad side of inverted commerce. So my, my sort of the way I look at it is if I start working with somebody and say, they just, for the sake of argument for clarity say they needed that they needed the color blue. They needed to return to pure blue, and that was helpful for them. But at the moment they were blue with streaks of red. So the sort of the way I look at it is that I send over the frequency of blue. I don't know I'm doing that. Their system knows what it needs and it'll pick out of the frequencies and the energy and light I'm sending what it needs, but it may be that what the system picks up changes a couple of the streaks of red. So we've got a little bit of a change, but as you said, it's not appropriate at that moment for that complete blueness to return. And so my job is to open the door to them, finding their pathway back to health with one hand, but it's not to push them through. And the other, because my, one of my big, big bug bears is when the allopathic medicine, which has a major good side as well. You know, I'm not dissident in that respect, but this will make you better. Um, no, it won't, you know, in my mindset because if something could make and I use the word making the form of, um, compel not to build, but to compound something, to do something I'm going to make you nothing can, because if it, if it could, one drug would cure every headache, one drug would do this because we're all such unique behavior that frequency of the drug that goes into the system has got to be accepted by the frequency of the system. And it doesn't always happen and nobody can make. And the only healer is the system you were working with because they are the only ones that will make the change. Nobody else can make them to. I'm totally passionate about that.

Heather:

I love the way you put that, that I've never put it that way. And I thought of it that way, but we always learn something from every podcast and I'll probably quote you down road. This is how it goes. So, okay. Shifting gears a little bit, KV. W how does your intuition,

Kathy:

Well, I think when I work with other systems, I don't, it doesn't even, I trust the intuition to do what it needs to do in a sense that the frequency goes out there so that I don't. And a lot of people say, do you pick stuff up and whatever? And to begin with, I was said, no, no, no, it's not my place. I'm here. And I'm just presenting. However, the universe started to have other ideas and I should think over the last couple of years, well, no, actually it was when people came in my life. So she and my other horse, my first horse died on new year's day, 2015. So I wouldn't forget the date. And she set it up beautifully. So everyone that loved her was there. It was, you know, you couldn't ask even my, um, it was new year's day. And even the body work and my body amazing lady, cranial, osteopath, shamanics, she was there. And so she worked with her and it was, you couldn't ask for more perfection in that respect. And she actually said your new horses coming through now. And it was like, no, within it was January, we're on the farm. We lamb. And I thought, I'm not even going to look for a horse till April because of everything going on. And she, and literally Teazel was in my life within 14 days because she was there. Yeah. She came and she actually came up onto farm in April. And the following August, a friend had given me a notebook a year before, and it's the most beautiful, it's got like yellow parchment, unlined pages, and a leather bound. And it's got a brass kit. And I had this, I thought, Oh my goodness, this is, this is for something special. And then Teazel came along. It's Teazel's book. So I started writing down all her training stuff. And then one day in August, I just felt the absolute need. I had to sit with her and I sat down in the stable with her. It was automatic. It was things like time, but a human construct, we can move backwards and forwards. And it kept saying trust all is well, the horses are coming. And there was six pages of writing, which I did not know what I was writing until I'd finished, read it back. So that was the first major time, several times after. But now when I work with clients, I'm finding more and more I either feel stuff in my body and I'll go, Ooh, hello. Or those words come to me and I have to be so don't try and work. What that word out and examples, not so long ago, I was working with a lady in Western Australia and the word that came through straight away was July. And I thought, okay, I write it down. I talk to her after the session, because I said, I don't get any details before I just say, I'm going to start. And then if she wants to talk about anything, I talk after. And I said, okay, sounds weird. But I have this word, July thinking, she was going to say, Oh yeah, that was the date I did, blah blah. And she went very quiet. And then she said, during recession, I got this really sharp pain in the back of my neck, which reminded me. I haven't had that pain since I was treated about eight, 10 years ago by a practitioner called July. And she then went to say, I know, but she subsequently said a couple of days later, she didn't realize how tight that was. And when it released, she'd realized, you know, how much tension had been in there. But that's where it just teaches me. Don't judge, don't pretend, you know, you know, nothing, just write it down. So yeah, I think that's my intern. And I also worked with Maddy's Mustangs. Um, Maddy Shambaugh, who's known as Mustang Maddy, who was the most amazing person when I was staying, was Robyn and Warrick very kindly. They invited me over last year. We went to an expo. Manny had a Mustang there, and one of them was being really upset about being in the stable. Now I'd never met Maddy before, but fate would have it where it, firstly, introduced this one evening. Next morning, I went to the stables there she was. And I said, okay, I do this weird stuff. She was totally with it. And the horse changed immediately, but he just settled down. And then I worked with another one of hers. And again, it was, I've got to write, I've got to write. And he gave me a page full of stuff, which I gave to Maddy. And it made sense for her. So I I've sort of really got to start trusting myself.

Heather:

That's lovely. And you know, I think it's fantastic how pure it is when, when you have confirmation, like you just explained, like it does happen and it's to not be freaked out, but be grateful almost if that happens to you, like, don't think that you're weird people don't, this is not a moment of schizophrenia or mental illness. It is a moment of clarity and confirmation that you aren't going crazy. You're actually becoming more in tune with your own intuition. So thank you for sharing those stories, because it can be scary for people to, to wake up to these things. And I mean, you had your own awakening that you described earlier in the podcast and it, and it's, if people don't have kind of a bouncing board to share it with, I think it can be much more difficult because you aren't in a place of, of celebrating with somebody you aren't in a place of going, this thing happened. Is this ever happened to you or you weren't in a place of, Oh my gosh, like that dream freaked me out. I need somebody to talk me off the ledge. Like, it's so important to realize that all of these things are quote unquote normal when it comes to intuition. And so you sharing that is so important and I'm so glad they came up because it's so important for people to know that they're not crazy and intuition, isn't woowoo. It's actually a gift. So thank you all that to say, thank you.

Kathy:

You're welcome. Yeah. Thank you for not making me feel weird. No, I mean, I've stepped beyond that now, but the one thing I think from picking up from what you said there about, um, you know, the, the ability to talk to other people. Well, two things, firstly, when I had one of my Reiki attunements I can't remember which one it was. I walked straight after, as I walked into a supermarket to buy something and I just couldn't bear to be in it. It was like the lights, everything was really too much and I felt ill and I went outside and I immediately rang my Reiki master and she sort of talked me through some stuff and that was fine. And then there was another person I knew who did amazing. I will use the word healer just to say, you know what he did. He worked with horses and I rang him and he said something completely different. And that was the moment I realized you have to find the answers for yourself because we are unique. Why it doesn't feel so absolutely that if you can have those people around you and I feel the more you step into who you are, accept your vibrational way, you know, this is who I am. These people appear. I mean, I'm talking to you, these people appear.

Heather:

And that's, that's so true. It's not, we have to remain true to our intuition, but to walk beside people who are going through their own things and kind of go, wow. Yeah, that's cool. That's different for you. It's like these podcasts. I there's some trends to them, but there's so much uniqueness with each individual's process with intuition. It's, it's been really, really cool to connect with people and be able to see that. And, and I think sometimes the people we connect with are there, they can be there for different reasons. They can be there for us to bounce what they say, offer intuition and go, no, that's not my experience. Or they can be there to just witness what you're going through and go, wow. Yeah. That's pretty amazing. What's going on over there. Or they can be there to go. Yeah. I've had that too. So some people show up to give you that spine of no, your way. Isn't my way. But it's cool that you have your way.

Kathy:

Yeah. And it's again, the, I don't know, maybe three years ago I've worked with cranial osteopaths, quite a lot in person and it distance and generally, well, what they found is that as I, this is the technical term, I use this zap because it's so much easier. Um, so when I zapp, they put their hands on a horse and feel where they feel the problems are, say it's tight at the pole in the back right. Or whatever. I use that zapp. And then they put their hands back on. And every time they they've noticed difference, you know, degrees of sometimes massive. Sometimes not. I got to do a really cool experiment once. Two cranial osteopath, husband and wife who used to live near me, emigrated over to New Zealand. And we kept in contact and her husband, Chris, he got in touch with me and he said he was treating six ponies, riding for the disabled ponies at a certain time on this day. And we set an experiment up where basically over Facebook messenger, he'd go right. I'm I I've looked at the pony. Then I say, well, I'm zapping and do five minutes zap here with him, put his hands back and see if there was any difference. And he said to me, which I hadn't thought of, he said, don't zap them all. Don't say, let me see if I can pick them out. And there was six ponies. So in the end I worked with one, two, three, five, and six. I didn't do number four. Number three, my hands nearly fell off the end of my arms. There was so much like, Oh my goodness, it's really sapping. You know, there's tingle. Woo. Whatever. So I didn't get to speak to him. The experiment finished my time about half past two in the morning because of the time difference. I wasn't a bit. Oh my God. Okay. He's right. And anyway, we finished a couple of days later, we get to speak over Skype. I think it was. And basically he said, number one, he said, I'm pretty sure you worked with him, but I wasn't quite sure because I wasn't sure what I was looking for. But I said, I'm pretty sure said you definitely did Number two, number three. He said the difference was amazing. Number four, you didn't do number five. You did do. And he said, I think he did six. And we've both got, well, how the hell does that work? Unless there is something happening because he had, you know we are 12,000 miles away. And I really I've got my mindset in distance is nothing because we're working in the field. It's, there's nothing. And It's intention to work. You know, there's pain. That's one of the most common questions I get asked these people, how do you know you're going to work with me? You know, when they might be in America, Australia, London, wherever. And I just say it's intention. I'm guiding that person called that over there. That's where I'm at. That's still I'm working with

Heather:

Exactly. We do the same only I call it a radio station. Do you turn into 96.3 or do you turn into 92.1? Or I said, you're just like a radio station. It's like, uh, it is very, very cool. Listen, Kathy. I think we could talk forever, but this has been so lovely. I so appreciate you saying yes.
