the wise man all things belong. 00:08:02.170 --> 00:08:04.810 So they loved information. 00:08:05.290 --> 00:08:10.970 We see their kind of mindset, we see their approach to life in the book of Acts. 00:08:11.129 --> 00:08:18.889 And this passage in Acts is describing a group of people in Athens, but Athens was just a short distance from Corinth. 00:08:19.050 --> 00:08:23.370 But listen to how it theirs. 00:09:21.369 --> 00:09:27.529 And he's gonna contrast the wisdom of the age with the wisdom of the cross. 00:09:27.609 --> 00:09:32.009 And he's gonna challenge all that they know about information. 00:09:32.329 --> 00:09:37.769 Remember, the church is up against a few other things that were described last week. 00:09:38.089 --> 00:09:47.049 This church has assimilation issues, uh, meaning that the church had a problem because it looked a lot like Corinth. 00:09:47.289 --> 00:09:53.690 So the problem was not that there was a church in Corinth, but the problem was that Corinth was in the church. 00:09:53.849 --> 00:10:03.049 They were no longer salty, they could no longer communicate a counterculture to the culture they were in. 00:10:03.690 --> 00:10:08.009 So they looked And the wisdom of God will be displayed in Paul himself. 00:13:26.009 --> 00:13:36.970 So Paul will go on to defend the wisdom of God by talking about the cross, the Corinthian caste, and his own
