Stuck in the Mud, Part 1

We drove into a torrential rainstorm, trying to maintain momentum to avoid getting stuck in the muddy sand. Hitting a deep pool of water, our car slipped onto an embankment. Now we were stuck! 

“We may as well make ourselves comfortable, spend the night in the car and investigate in the morning,” we decided.
