S6 Ep19: Laura Pick, Elphaba in Wicked
Show Notes Chapter Markers

This week we're joined by London's 15th anniversary Elphaba, Laura Pick!

After training at Mountview, Laura understudied and played Maria in The Sound of Music at the Regent's Park Open Air Theatre. She went on to star in a tour of So This Is Christmas, completed a contract at sea with Belinda King Creative Productions and played Dr Osgood in Anyone Can Whistle at the Union Theatre.

Laura first joined the West End production of Wicked at the Apollo Victoria Theatre as Standby Elphaba in Summer 2017. After standing by for Alice Fearn and Nikki Bentley, Laura took over the role full-time at the start of 2020 until theatres were shutdown at the start of the pandemic in March 2020. Laura returned to the role when Wicked reopened in September 2021, and played Elphaba for the production's 15th Anniversary performance.

Laura played her final performance in Wicked in January 2022, and has been busy since with various concert work. Since leaving, Laura has returned to Wicked several times as an emergency cover Elphaba (we recorded this episode two days after her most recent return!).

In this episode, Laura discusses her career pre-Wicked, her Elphaba journey and lots more!
