S4 Ep7: Michael Balogun, Delroy in Death of England
Show Notes Chapter Markers

Last year Michael starred as Delroy in Death Of England: Delroy at the National Theatre. He was originally cast to understudy Giles Terera in Clint Dyer and Roy Williams's one-person play, but when Giles became unwell, Michael took over the role and received tremendous acclaim for his performance. The show was later streamed on YouTube for twenty-four hours and will hopefully return to the National this year.

Michael's stage credits include: Shaun in People, Places and Things (UK Tour), The Doctor in Macbeth (National Theatre), Nick Makoha in The Dark (Ovalhouse Theatre), Winston / Shoni in Barbershop Chronicles (Royal Exchange Theatre) and Macduff in Macbeth (Chichester Festival Theatre). His screen credits include Casualty (BBC) and War of the Worlds (EPIX / FOX).

In this episode, Michael discusses his whirlwind journey with Death Of England and the highs and lows of the past twelve months. He also speaks openly about his path to discovering acting and theatre following some time in prison. It's a very inspiring conversation!
