So with all these road approaches, and there are more that I'll talk about over the course of my podcast, there's a term that came up, um, that she used quite a bit. It's called modes and, and what it's loads is just a fancy way for change your system after you lose a certain amount of times in a row. And also understand that these approaches, these systems, as we say, is they're usually designed to play every hand or that's the intention of the person who designed them. Um, they don't wait for anything. They just simply bet the same way all the time. And you know, very seldom is that a good way to play. But they did evolve over time, uh, from players playing the game. But a mode is simply this. Let's say for instance, you're playing time before last and you lose because you're on a lot of two in a row, say two in a row. Well, they'd call that time before last mode three, because when you hit that third loss in a row, then maybe you'd switched to opposite time before last or some other strategy that you think may be appropriate at the particular time. So modes is something that refers to the number of times that you lose before your change. And of course, mode one would be, well, if you lose one, then you immediately change. As soon as you lose one, you change to another strategy. Mode two would be after you lose two, and mode three would be after you lose three. Now it can be valuable sometimes. Um, it does, uh, allow you to adjust to what's going on in the game after all. What a better way to learn. You're playing the wrong strategy, or I should say it's a better way to learn, but it's an obvious way to learn. Uh, if you're losing, obviously the strategy isn't working and it stops you at three. Now, whether one, two, or three losses in a row has any statistical significant, uh, one could argue about it endlessly, but, uh, it is just kind of a way they started to enhance these road strategies. So as we talk about these things, you can see how they evolve. They started off with, you know, we'll always do this. And then after a while they started noticing, well, if we always do that, we lose probably just as quickly as if we just randomly guessed. So there was no advantage to do it. Then they started adding some statistics to it. Like, you know, after you lose three times in a row, well it wasn't based on any sort of, um, analysis of what's going on in the game, just when you lose just bet a different way. So that was one of the first ways that early baccarat players started to tweak how they play. And it's very interesting to understand, or it's critical to understand how the game evolved and how a players who actually learned how to win at the game, uh, our thinking and at its these road strategies were the first things that came about then to change the strategy after you lost so many times in a row.
