They have built their businesses from scratch and are now ready to give back to those who are just starting. Let's get ready to learn, grow and elevate our businesses. And now your host, Chris Anderson.
Speaker 2:All right, welcome back to another episode of the Elevate Media Podcast. I'm Chris Anderson, your host. Today, we're going to dive into the topic of launching or starting your video podcast before the end of 2023. This is crucial because this is what I started doing, you know, in 2019. It's what started it all, which has helped me grow Elevate Media and many others grow their brands and businesses. So we're going to dive into that why you need to have a video podcast before the end of the year. All right, to kick things off, I'm going to talk about how powerful video podcasting is. We all know video content is taking the internet by storm and it's not going to stop. People are watching more videos than ever before and, guess what? They want to see you on camera. That's the power of video podcasting. It's not just about audio anymore. It's about creating a visual connection with your audience. Whether you're sharing insights, interviewing experts or simply having a candid conversation, video podcasts are ways you can engage your viewers on a whole new level. So let's talk about how we can capitalize on these current trends within video podcasting. We all know that podcasting in general has been on the rise for multiple years. We saw the boom during COVID. The convenience of consuming content on the go, whether during commutes, workouts or leisure time, has made podcasts a go-to choice for information and entertainment. However, here's where the excitement begins. The video podcasting landscape is still relatively untapped. As of today, audio podcasts dominate the scene, but their video counterparts are catching up fast. By getting into video podcasting before the end of 2003, you're not just riding the wave of podcasting popularity, you're positioning yourself as an early adopter, and that's where the magic's going to happen. Early adopters have a unique advantage to your presence and authority in a less crowded space. So think about it While countless audio-only podcasts are competing for listeners' attention, there's a gap in the market for engaging video-driven content. This means you have the opportunity to stand out prominently in the sea of audio-only podcasts within your market. Your potential audience is not just interested in hearing you. They want to see you. They want to connect with you visually and engage on a deeper level. By harnessing the power of video, you're not only providing valuable content, but also creating a more personal connection with your viewers. Beyond just standing out, video podcasting allows you to reach a broader audience hungry for that video content. Think about the platforms people spend their time on most YouTube, instagram, tiktok they're all about visual. By delivering your content and video form, you're meeting your audience where they are, and that's a recipe for rapid growth, especially if you're just getting started or early on in your entrepreneurial journey. It's not just a trend, it's a new movement. The world is continuing to shift towards video and will do so in the future, and by starting your video podcast before the end of 2023, you're not just keeping up with the times, but you're setting the pace, defining the future and opening doors to a wider, more engaged audience. The time to act is now and the rewards are immense. Video podcasting also will help you build authority and build your brand. Now let's dive deeper into one of the most compelling reasons to start your video podcast before the end of 2023, building authority and branding. When you consistently appear on screens, whether it's through your solo episodes or engaging interviews with experts, you become more than just a name in your niche. You become a trusted face. Imagine the impact of being that go-to person or brand your audience relies on for valuable insights. Your brand gets a significant boost as well. All start associating your face and voice with expertise and authenticity. This trust leaves a higher engagement with your content and increased interest in your products and services. It's like having a 24-7 branding machine working in the background. You post one video and it's evergreen. It's always there for people to find. Think about some of the most influential figures and companies out there. Many of them have leveraged video podcasts to enhance their brand presence. It's not just about what you say, it's about how you say it and the visual impact it creates. Video podcasting allows you to convey your message in a more compelling and memorable way. Also, video podcasting allows you to showcase your personality and authenticity. Your audience gets to know you on a personal level, which strengthens the bond and loyalty that you're building. Authenticity is a cornerstone of successful branding and video podcasts are an excellent medium for showcasing it. You're able to see the person's manureisms, their facial expression, their body language. You get to see some of their personality within their background and the decor that they have around them. It really opens up that door and builds more trust. Remember, building authority and branding isn't a sprint, it's a marathon. Starting your video podcast now sets you on a path to gradually establish yourself as an influential figure in your field. It's an investment in your long term success and the sooner you start, the sooner you'll reap the rewards. So if you've been hesitating or procrastinating, remember that video podcasting isn't just about content creation. It's a strategic move to position yourself or your brand as a trusted authority. Don't miss out on this opportunity. By the end of 2023, you could have a strong foundation for a lasting legacy. Now we're going to get into the incredible versatility of video podcast. You see, they aren't just a standalone medium. They can be the cornerstone of your entire content strategy, adding layers of value and engagement. Picture this you record a fantastic video podcast episode where you discuss industry trends with a thought leader. But that's just the beginning. You can break down that episode into smaller, digestible clips and share them on all your social media platforms. These snippets act as teasers, giving your audience a taste of the valuable content you're offering. They serve as effective hooks to draw viewers into your full episodes. But we're not done yet. Those insightful conversations you have in your video podcast can be transcribed and turned into well-crafted blog posts. This not only repurposes your content, but also caters to those who prefer written information. It's a win-win. And here's a kicker the engagement doesn't stop there. You can take the most thought-provoking quotes from your video podcast and turn them into visually appealing quote graphics. These shareable images not only reinforce your message, but also encourage your audience to share them with their networks, expanding your reach even further. So you can get any kind of content from one video podcast episode. The possibilities are endless. Now let's get into community engagement. When you host a video podcast, it allows you to build a loyal community of listeners and viewers. You can interact with your audience in real time during live recordings, answer their questions and even involve them in the discussion. This level of engagement is hard to replicate with traditional audio-only podcasts. The versatility of video podcasting complements your existing content efforts seamlessly. It adds a fresh perspective to your content mix and attracts different audience segments. Some people prefer watching, others reading and some engaging in bite-sized pieces. Video podcasts allow you to cater to all of these while still saying true to your brand's message. So when you think about starting a video podcast before the end of the year, think beyond the episodes themselves. Think about the ripple effect that they can create in your content strategy, amplifying your reach and impact. And when you start a video podcast, there's also the opportunity to monetize through it. As an entrepreneur, you know the importance of diversifying your income streams. Well, your video podcast can be a goldmine waiting to be tapped into. So let's start with the classics. Of course, sponsorships and affiliate marketing. Companies are eager to reach engaged audiences and your video podcast provides the perfect platform for them. Imagine having brands running to collaborate with you, paying you to feature their products or services. It's a win-win situation that can quickly boost your revenue, especially after you've built a strong audience that works for both parties. But there's more. Your video podcast can become a direct revenue generator. If you have products or services, promote them during your episodes. Create exclusive offers for your podcast audience. Your loyal viewers are more likely to take avert into customers because they already trust you. Now let's talk about the power of memberships and subscriptions. You can offer premium content or early access to your episodes for a monthly fee. Your dedicated fans will gladly pay for exclusive perks, creating a consistent income stream. And don't forget merchandise, if that's something you want to include into your brand or business, you can develop branded products related to your podcast's theme. T-shirts, mugs or even digital downloads can become a lucrative side business, boosting your podcast's profitability. Plus live events and webinars, hosting exclusive virtual gatherings for your audience can not only generate income through ticket sales, but also deepen your connection with your community. And, last but not least, you can even look at crowdfunding platforms like Patreon or Kickstarter that provided direct line for your fans to support the show financially. You can even offer special rewards for your backers, creating a sense of belonging. Now, I get it. It may seem overwhelming at first, but here's the beauty of it all you don't need to choose just one path. Many successful video podcasters combine multiple monetization strategies, which creates a diversified income portfolio. So, as the year is drawing to a close, remember that your video podcast is not just a creative outlet. It's a revenue generating machine. Explore these monetization avenues, experiment and find what works best for your niche and audience. Now I know what you're thinking, chris. There's a lot that goes into starting a video podcast, and there are things that I'm going to come up with that I'm up to overcome. So we're going to dive into some of those common obstacles that might be holding you back from starting your video podcast. Trust me, these challenges are surmattable, and I've seen countless podcasters conquer them on their way to success. First, of course, the easy one is equipment. It's so easy to get overwhelmed by the many types of cameras, microphones and gear available out there to you. The truth is, you don't need the most expensive equipment to get started. Start with what you have, whether it's a decent smartphone and a budget-friendly microphone. As you grow, you can invest in better gear, but starting out, you really need to focus on audio quality first. Make sure your audio quality is on par, even for a video podcast, and I would recommend just using your webcam on your laptop to start instead of your phone, unless you know how to hook your phone into the computer and get it to work as the webcam, it just brings in another hassle. But if you can do the one that's already on your laptop, that's going to be the simplest way. Instead, as you go, you can improve and invest in new equipment as you grow and as you get the funds to do so. Now you might also be wondering about video editing, audio production or even setting up your own podcast hosting platform. So here's the good news there are so many online resources, courses and communities that can help you. Even here at Elevate Media, we can launch your video podcast for you, so you don't have to worry about it. But through these free resources online, you can learn the basics of audio and video editing. There are free softwares out there as well, like Adacity or DaVinci, resolve, and for podcast hosting there are places like Anchor, which is now Spotify, buzzsprout, that are very user-friendly, and you can also subscribe to this podcast, the Elevate Media Podcast, where we talk to different experts who share how they've overcome to be successful in business. I talk about how to do video podcasting better, how to grow and things of that nature. But remember, everyone starts somewhere. So begin by reaching out to people in your network or within your niche. Explain the value they'll get from being on your podcast. Over time, as your podcast gains traction, you'll find it easier to attract high-profile guests. You'll learn about building relationships and providing value. Consistency can also be a hurdle. Sticking to a regular recording schedule and releasing episodes on time is crucial for building your audience. Create a content calendar, batch record episodes as much as possible and then set realistic goals. This will help you maintain a steady flow of content and keep your audience engaged. And lastly, don't let the fear of not having a perfect first episode hold you back. Remember you'll improve with each episode you create. Start now, learn as you go and refine your podcasting skills over time. Your early episodes will serve as a testament to your progress, just like mine, my first one which are terrible, and your audience will appreciate your authenticity. So there you have it. These are some common obstacles that are just bumps in the road to successful video podcasts. Embrace them. They're part of the journey and you'll find that, with determination, a willingness to learn and a supportive community, you can overcome anything that stands in your way. So the bottom line is you have an incredible opportunity. Still the clock is ticking and by the end of the year, you could have a thriving video podcast that's set you on a path to your goals. But you don't want to wait any longer. You've got to take action today. Start planning, gathering your equipment and reach out if you need guidance. The world and the people who need it are waiting to hear your message. So again, don't wait any longer. Wait, that video podcast started. Start growing your audience, start making a difference in the world and help elevate your brand. I appreciate you tuning in today. If you have any questions, please reach out to me on Instagram at christanderson. I'm here to take those questions and answer them the best I can and guide you to places if I don't have the answer.
