Steven Gibb is a lifelong musician hailing from Windsor On. Now a Montreal transplant, he has become an audio engineer, and composer/producer working with independent artists from his Lites Down Studio.
The studio began construction in July 2017, and within a short time was taking contracts to spread word a new studio had begun in the Rosemont Petite Patrie neighborhood. Dedicated to helping young artists develop and prosper from the recording experience, Steven has been involved with a number of projects passing through the Lites Down doors where analogue recording techniques are applied and DIY attitude is encouraged. From the studio's quiet birth, the next year has larger plans expanding into a label, based on the Motown template Hitsville USA and has larger plans on the horizon.
The studio is also a co-working place where freelance engineers are able to work at their schedule, providing a comfortable space for creatives to work on a budget in a relaxed environment. By offering this to the Montreal community, Steven & Lites Down are becoming an integral part of the artistic landscape embedded in Montreal's creative roots.
