You see, the world needs a lot more kindness, creativity compassion, and empathy.

In this episode, I share with you

  • one effective strategy to stay on track where any healthy habit is concerned

But before I get into the details about that, it's been a while since I showed up here, I have been a bit under the weather and, and decided to make a few changes.

As far as my Facebook and podcast is concerned. I've decided to make it a bit more personal, more interactive. So first I would like to ask you no matter where you're listening or watching, this is to, you know, to reach out to me and to let me know how you are doing.

My mission is to empower women like you, to inspire, educate about various aspects of self-care, whether it's about taking time out for yourself, care on a consistent basis, or you know,

You have the time, you have to just know how to manage it. And that's what I'm focusing on in my upcoming master class.

I'm really passionate about empowering women, because I know that when women start taking care of themselves, they can be there for them, you know, for their family as well for their children

Not only can they share their unique gifts with the world you know, but the way they show up also makes all the difference and the world needs a lot more kindness, creativity compassion, and empathy. And I think that by showing up as our authentic sales showing up as our best version of ourselves can make all the difference.

And that's something that I have been practicing for the last few years. Now, it's scary in some ways to show up as you are with your scars, with your imperfections.

But I think that this is something that is really important because you know, some of us are all of us actually have some amazing gifts that we can share.

And in our own ways we can find, you know, we can share that with the internet and with the technology that we have at our fingertips, all that is possible, right.

Even say 10, 15 years back, we couldn't even have dreamed about the kind of connectivity that we have. So, but rather than getting into that, a few things that I wanted to touch upon today in today's session is that one thing that I keep hearing when I ask my, whether it's my coaching clients, I read that I asked my friends and family and I, you know, to have struggled with this from time to time.

When I, you know, when I asked, what is the one thing that stops you from taking care of yourself, taking care of your health.

And that is the answer that I find is a lack of time. And while that may certainly be true at certain points in time, because, you know, we may be dealing with a crisis.

For example, I was dealing with a crisis at home, kind of a mini-crisis at home recently. And so my own self-care practice when, for the task for a while, but I have the tools at my disposal to make sure that I don't lose the plot completely.

And then I can come back to that whenever in, at the earliest possible time. It's more about making it a habit so that even when you fall off the bandwagon, you're able to get on it.

That's what life is about. We will all fall off the bandwagon. We will all find you know, reasons that life can get in the way, but I'm not talking about that.

I'm talking about the other times. And which is a majority for true, for a majority of us, for the majority of the time. It's like we have enough time. It is just what we are choosing to do with it. That makes all the difference.

So when you are saying to yourself that I don't have the time, it's because you're choosing not to.

If I'm being a bit blunt here, it's deliberate because I also do that for myself, but I'm very honest, that's one of my top strengths because when I know, I know an excuse when I see one, right.

And it's even when I make excuses for myself but most of the times it is how we are choosing to spend that time.

You know, so it's not really a lack of time. It's about how, how intentional we are about the way we are spending those number of hours, because you see you have 24 hours just like everyone else.

And it's not going to increase all going to decrease at any point in your life. It's going to remain that way.

So it's what you do with those 24 hours, which is going to make a difference. The other thing that I often find you know, is that I hear, when I ask again that, what do you, what do you think you know, sort of gets in the way of a consistent self-care practice?

It's because most of the answers that I get are that I don't feel motivated, or I feel too lazy, or I tend to procrastinate.

And again, there might be different reasons for that, but some of the things that really helps to stay on track is one to have an accountability partner.

So if you have a friend who's trying to do something that you are trying to achieve, then you'd really have to just you know, get in touch with that accountability buddy or partner, and make sure that you stay on track.

And as a coach, I have my own accountability partners, right? As a coach, I am the accountability partner for my coaching clients.

And I also have my own accountability partners that makes all the difference between staying on track and sort of just letting go, right?

So that's one huge, huge way that you can sort of make sure that you stay on track, that you don't procrastinate, or, you know, sort of fall off the bandwagon, even get on track, because if you are accountable to somebody else, you will get back on it.

So, and it can be somebody who offline or online, right. You don't have to be in the same geographical location.

So that's, that's one. The other thing is learning to know what is important for you, right? Many of us actually get confused between first of all, many of us are not aware of what is important, or we may have some vague idea.

Maybe it's our health. Maybe it's a relationships, family, et cetera. So we have some idea, not that we don't, but we've not really sat down to really, you know, think about it, right?

Write it down, distill it, make it clear so that there is no confusion whatsoever in my mind. So if you ask me, what are the things that are important to you?

I would say my health, my family's health, my relationship, the work that I do in serving women like you, that are the three main things.

Then if a few other things would be traveling, I love to travel. I love reading. So these are some of the things I love listening to podcasts, but the main things would be this.

And in fact, I do an exercise in my coaching class and in the master class that is I'm doing which is coming up the free master class that I mentioned.

You know, just thinking about your life as a garden, right? And if you could only take care of T2 five plants in that garden, what would they be?

Because if you think of your life as a garden and you are the Gardner, then you need to make sure that the soil is fertile for the plants to grow, right?

You cannot really have healthy plants in, in soil, which is not nourished or undernourished. So you will have to make sure that this soil is nourished welfare, well, water, et cetera.

Right. And then probably would take care of a few plants, which is maybe three to five. And then you would also make sure that the weeds are not overgrowing.

So all of these factors come in. So making sure that you are focusing on maybe just three to five plants, like, as I said, family, health, relationships work, and whatever else, a particular hobby, maybe write whatever else it may be.

So these are the things, but getting very clear, getting this clarity is the first thing. And lastly, once you have this clarity, you know, you need to find a way to prioritize it, make it a priority, because these are things that are important to you.

They should not be left to chance. Unfortunately, for many of us, we simply know what is important. We are very clear about that, but maybe we are not prioritizing them.

And what I am just by prioritizing them is the first step. The second step is to you live, right? This is something that I've learned to do only in the past few years.

And it has really made all the difference in my life. So today, if I had been able to you know, work as a health coach, if I have been able to work as a solo entrepreneur, launching an online course for women on emotional, self-care again, coming up next month, if I'm doing workshops and, you know, masterclasses, if I am running a website and which has a blog if I am you know, have, you know, if I have a podcast right now and you know, say various other social media appearances, and it's, you know, other things that I'm doing all the time, it's only because I have learned to take control of my calendar.

I have learned to distill what is important to me, prioritize that, and then shed Hewlett because whatever does not get shared, you'll, you can rest assured it will most likely not get done.

And this is exactly what I will be teaching in this free online master class. It's a live 90 minutes session.

And it's called "Scheduling made simple for busy women"

And I highly recommend that if you are struggling to take out time for self-care on a consistent basis, you know, you know, that self care is important to you, you know, that you need to take charge of your own health because it has long-term consequences, not only for you but also for your family.

I do know that, but if you're still struggling as to where to start, how to go about it, if you're confused with all the various options that you have because honestly, it's not a lack of apps that lead us to procrastinate.

Sometimes it's too many things on our plate. So if you are feeling overwhelmed to eat, may not be feeling all of it, but if you can identify with at least some of them, then I would highly recommend that you use the link to sign up to register.

You will need to register for this master class, because it will be held via zoom to a limited number of participants.

And I will be taking you through a 90 minute live session where you will also get to ask me questions at the end of it.
