When Harvey Milk was assassinated on November 27, 1978 he left an enormous hole in the LGBTQ+ community of San Francisco. His legacy, not just as the first openly gay politician in California, but as an empathetic and compassionate social activist created an inclusive community that serves as his true legacy.
