301 – What is the secret to church growth?

How is your church doing these days? 

Are you growing? Are you holding steady? Are you barely hanging in there trying to keep the doors open? 

A lot of churches are struggling right now. Some are closing. Some are growing.

What is it that makes a church not just survive but thrive? 

There are lots of factors, but what really helps a church grow, and I’m not just talking number of members, but more importantly, spiritual growth, the desire to follow Christ, spiritual vision and transformation, and love for the community.

In this week’s episode, we’re going to talk about how and why the Early Church, described in the Book of Acts, grew so quickly and how it can be a model for your church to grow today.

• Be full of the Holy Spirit
• Be in the presence of the spirit of Jesus’s resurrection
• Understand how Jesus fulfills the Scriptures
• Love Jesus enough to obey his command to share his message with your neighbors
• Love your neighbors enough to actually share your faith with them
• Look for the opportunities to share that are always there
• Speak in a way others can understand you.

When you and your church do these things, I can’t guarantee you’ll get a bunch of new members, but I can promise you there will a lot of spiritual growth in your church, and there are no limitations to what God can do when your hearts are on fire for Christ.
