371 – Are you willing to let Jesus upset your apple cart?

What happened to you the first time you encountered Christ?

Or maybe a better way to ask it: What happened to you first time you took the message of Jesus seriously, accepted it, and tried to live it in your life?

When you accept Christ into your life, it should have a profound effect on you. Something changes.

The commitment to follow Christ gives you a whole new perspective on life, no matter what your circumstances were before. And there are so many blessings that come as a result.

But sometimes it seems that following Jesus can turn your life upside down.

In this week’s episode, we’re going to look at a few folks in the Bible whose lives Jesus turned upside down and inside out and the blessings that came as a result.

  • Peter and Andrew, James and John from fishermen to apostles
  • Peter got his "apple cart" turned upside down more than once
  • James and John had to let go of pride and the desire for high office

And we’ll talk about how you are blessed as well, when you let Jesus reorganize your priorities.

There's nothing to be afraid of when Christ upsets your old way of life. It empties your heart of the things and thoughts that aren't from God.

As a result, you are closer to God, more like Jesus, and you find the spiritual freedom to be all God made you to be.
