John: Do You Wish To Get Well

Aloha and welcome to The Mission North Shore's podcast! This passage from John chapter 5 takes us to the Pool of Bethesda, where we encounter a man who had been crippled for 38 years. What makes this healing particularly striking is that it was an act of pure mercy, completely independent of the man's faith. He didn't even know who Jesus was until after his healing. This challenges us to wrestle with difficult theological questions about why God heals some and not others, why some receive miracles through faith while others receive them through sheer grace. The passage reminds us that God's ways are higher than our ways, and sometimes we won't understand His purposes until we meet Him face to face.
