Waiting with Expectation
Show Notes

God promised Abraham that through him all the families of the earth would be blessed. During the Christmas season, we are celebrating the fulfillment of that promise, which came hundreds of years later, in the birth of Jesus the Messiah. God brought His promise of a Saviour about in the least likely way: a baby. In this episode, Lynndey and Casey challenge us to live with eager expectation, in this season and beyond, believing there will come a day in the fullness of God's time when He will fulfill His promises to us.

Scripture References

A shoot will come up from the stump of Jesse; from his roots a Branch will bear fruit.
   Isaiah 11:1

So do not throw away your confidence; it will be richly rewarded. You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised.
   Hebrews 10:35-36

Though the fig tree does not bud and there are no grapes on the vines, though the olive crop fails and the fields produce no food, though there are no sheep in the pen and no cattle in the stalls, yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will be joyful in God my Savior.

   Habakkuk 3:17-18

At least there is hope for a tree: If it is cut down, it will sprout again, and its new shoots will not fail. Its roots may grow old in the ground and its stump die in the soil, yet at the scent of water it will bud and put forth shoots like a plant.
   Job 14:7-9
