One, some of you do not have the best mom's.  I've learned that first hand dealing with all the dudes.  So for many of you, it is truly a challenge to love someone that wasn't/isn't so loving.  Picking out a card can be next to impossible for some of you.

Deeper take, if you call yourself a Christian, here's a verse for you, washing other's feet.  

John 13:14 NIV
Now that I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one another’s feet.

And that means the not so lovable.  Easy to serve someone you love.  Jesus is crystal clear on loving the ones that need a doctor (mentally, spirtitually or physically).

Forgiveness?  You know I have to go there...for some of you are holding on to grudges for far too long, in particular what your parents did or didn't do...

Matthew 6:14 NLT
“If you forgive those who sin against you, your heavenly Father will forgive you.

Ephesians 6:3 (NLT)
If you honor your father and mother, “things will go well for you, and you will have a long life on the earth.”

Matthew 15:6 (NLT)
In this way, you say they don’t need to honor their parents. And so you cancel the word of God for the sake of your own tradition.

Bigger picture, if you are married, you should love your wife everyday, not just on anniversary or Valentine's Day.  C'mon player, you can do better.  Have kids?  Go beyond the birthday.  Father's you go it.

Most important, good or bad parent, you have the ultimate parent.  Don't forget that.  Give you Abba praise first, every day, throughout the day.  Ask the ultimate for guidance first before any other.
