S12E3 - Marie Hardin

In the third episode of season 12 of Podward State, hosts Ally Eaton and Mikey DeAngelis were joined by Donald P. Bellisario College of Communications Dean Marie Hardin.

Before jumping into the interview, Keeley Lamm, Ryan Smith, and Hannah Guidotti dove into Happy Valley headlines including the upcoming Movin’ On lineup in State College, the Mac ‘N’ Cheese festival, and more.

Then in the interview, Hardin, the dean of the communications college for 11 years, chatted about leading the naming and rebranding of the Bellisario College after securing a $30 million gift from Penn State alumnus and television producer Donald Bellisario.

Following her tenure at Penn State beginning as an assistant professor to leading the largest accredited mass communications program in the country, Hardin accepted a role as the 
10th president of Quinnipiac University.

Before she heads to Connecticut for her new role, we caught up with Hardin about her start in journalism, her favorite memories with Bellisario College students, and New Haven pizza.
